Charity SON Fall 2012

U.S.A. Louisiana

Hello Everyone!

I know I'm early but I'm super excited to begin nursing school. I was wondering if anyone else here is planning to apply to Charity for Fall 2012? Are you done with your prereqs? Taken the HESI? What's your profile score?

I have taken all of my prereqs but it has been 6 years since I took A&P II lecture/lab so I'm taking it now at Delgado. I'm taking the lecture online and I go on campus for the lab. We have only done one exercise in lab so far and I already feel like its not going to be very easy. I took the HESI on Monday and I did pretty well so I'm done with that thank God!

I calculated my profile score and if I get an A in the A&P lecture I'll have 70 points. If I get a B or C, I'll have 65 points. I'm super nervous because when I talked to the admissions lady at Charity she told me the cut off tends to be a bit higher for the Fall semester than the Spring. From reading the forum, it looks like the cut off for Spring 2012 was around a 55 so I'm worried that the cut off for Fall will be like 75! :uhoh3:

Good luck to everyone and I hope to meet some of my future classmates!

Just wanted to let everyone know that it is up on Charity's website June 13th will be the next day for registration for those who had holds. If you go on their website and click the link "registration information" at the top of that page it says June 13th. Bummer... I was really hoping it was June 4th :( I also looked at the classes available under Lola. You can go under look up classes and it'll show you what classes/clinical sites have closed. Looks like a lot of them are full =(

cdiane, I was looking at the classes too, and some of the classes that say, "closed" only have 3 people registered for that class, and I know that there is a maximum of 6. Learning2care said that when she was there today, they said that the system was starting to screw up. If you count the available spots left, it's only 14, and I know there's about 50 people that still need to register. I guess it will be fixed by the time we register.

Thanks Phi823! That is SUCH a relief! Maybe we will still have a chance at our ideal clinical site! I'm just ready to register already! ;( I guess our day will come and it will eventually all work out! At least we are starting this fall!! Thats what I keep telling myself to keep from getting to bummed out!

I feel so bad! I was one of the few who stood in line and actually got resolution to the "issue" they had listed as a problem for the hold. Most people were upset, and left upset, with their issue still unresolved. Most people were having issues w tb tests or w not having initials in a spot (even though there were signatures). What really frustrated people was the fact that they could get the initials done and get the paperwork back on the same day, but the lift would not be taken off until the 13 th. The second line that I stood in was to register, and most people there seemed to be in the higher levels. They were saying that no one could reg online. They said the system was shutting down and that's why they came in person. I feel terrible- like survivor's guilt almost. It really is in no way fair. People in line were coming up w all kinds of theories- like, maybe they just couldn't handle so many at a tine in the new system, so they just cut it off at some point. I don't know. Bit I do agree w phi- u will all be in a great group. We are the too 25% of who applied. We are the people who can kick a** even in the "reject class"! Lol. I'm praying for us all to have a great kick off to the year. Has anyone started reading the suggested "fundamentals success" book? I have and it's extremely frustrating. It's about the critical thinking questions, which is very helpful, BUT they don't teach u first. So u basically have to go research each part, then come back and answer questions. I wish it had a companion book!

Hello, I got a letter from lsbn and I had to send additional stuff. I am freaking out. I don't know what your situation was but mine really was no big deal. I don't think anyhow. Do you know of anyone else who got approval as well

Did you hear anything. I got a letter with request for additional info.

Should I be worried about lsbn? Does anyone know anything

I don't know any information about LSBN, I received my approval letter in the beginning of the month which I thought it was pretty quick! Were you able to register for classes on Tuesday? If you were able to then I'm guessing you're fine once you send the paperwork you need to send.

No bc I had health holds. And I can register but have to wait for approval bc I can start class. I sent what they needed today. Just didn't know if I should be worried.

So, of course I had a hold on my account. I took the paper work that they were missing up there that day. I asked the lady when she was going to remove my hold and she would never give me a day. I just logged in and the hold is STILL there. Does everyone still have holds on their accounts? Does anyone know when they are going to remove the holds? I'm out of town and will not return until June 12th. I've called the lady several times and I have left messages. She still has not returned my call. I just hope she removes my hold! :(

Faxed in what they needed and finally my hold is off. So I have a question...when do we register and do we do it in person or online? I think she told me the 13th but I can't remember and I was so ticked off the day she told me is that the day?

I had a health hold also. So once your hold is gone, we register June 13th. I guess we can do it online or in person
