I recently took the VMI course in April. I have all my marketing materials ready from my stationary, to my new suit. I started mailing out letters this week and have started to make more contacts of attorneys to send out letters to next week.

At this point, I'm asking myself, "why did I do this? Is this what I really want to do? Do I really want to deal with attorneys? Will I be happy doing this? Am I cut out for this? etc etc.

Am I feeling this way because I'm inexperienced and don't know what I'm doing. I'm hoping that these thoughts I'm having will change once I start working on cases but the other side of me is fearful that I got into something I never should have.

Has anyone else ever felt this way when they first started?

K, so I am not in the same field as you, but this is something that I deal with frequently as well. I tend to question my decisions before I even follow through with them. You are just apprehensive, Maybe you'll love the job, maybe you'll hate it, but you will never know until you try it!

Like momma says about your veggies, just try it.

I always feel a bit apprehensive when I start something new....I recently started travel nursing, and I was so anxious when I left Indianapolis (because I was technically unemployed...just divorced....my cat hated being in the car in her carrier....) that I was having chest tightness!! Give it a shot, you may find that it is the best thing that ever happened to you!!! Travel nursing has been great to me so far! Let me know if that works out for you - I have considered getting the VMI thing, but was always put off by the cost!!

Hello, nungum,

So, since a few weeks have gone by, how are you doing now?

To let you know, it's perfectly normal to be anxious in regards to the new career. You are in a whole different world. Nursing you know like the back of your hand; marketing yourself is a whole other ballgame.

Let us know how you are doing and good luck with your LNC career.
