Finally got some interviews - page 2

After applying everywhere I could think of and that I qualified for I got a glut of interviews. Let me take you back to last week. Tuesday I get a phone call for a position on Ft. Knox's Warrior Transition Unit, I was unable to... Read More

If your shots aren't up-to-date, you can get them done for free at the Employee Health office. If your PPD is expired, or if you can't find it, you can get that done at one of the Norton Immediate Care Centers, when you get your urine drug screen done. That won't cost you anything, either.

One thing you can also do while you're waiting is to update your BLS (if needed), and sign up for ACLS. These are also done at no cost for you.

You'll get plenty of precepted hours in- don't worry about that.

While I was at Ft. Knox I went to outpatient records to get information on retrieving my information. I got a number in Missouri, which is where my stuff has been retired too. Of course you can't get ahold of an actual person to talk to, that would be convient wouldn't it? My mom can't find my immunization records. I'll wait for my PPD until I actually start since its a long drive to an Immediate Care Center, yeah its expired LOL.

I don't know yet if I need to take ACLS, I know I have to take NRP though.

Oh- that's right. You'll probably have PALS instead of ACLS...duh.

I don't even know if I'll get PALS LOL. I do know I'll get NRP since thats what is used on NICU's.

It is going to be interesting to see the classes I will be taking.

Tis OK, LOL. Last week I had a hard time studying due to the excitement of actually being hired somewhere.

I'm still thinking of pushing back my NCLEX test date due to the fact that its right in the middle of new job orientation. Since I have until Nov 5th to take, I'm thinking of pushing it to the end of October to get the Kaplan class in, and at least a little of orientation in before taking it.

I'm scared actually, what IF I do badly....I'll lose the job I've worked hard to get. I'm really trying not to focus to much on that possibility, even though its there. I'm trying to do as many test questions as I can, then reading the rationales to the ones I've missed AND the ones I got right.
