Hi! I work in Ospital Ning Angeles in Angeles City. If you guys would like to have certificates and work as a volunteer, you can apply here they will give you certificate provided that you work for them for a minimum of 3 months. You will work there just like a full time worker without pay or apply there and youll get paid but the salary is 6k only.(tax exempted)) the work, well of course, expect to have a maximum of 18 patients if you will be assigned in charity and 10 patients in private ward. The load is basically the same because the significant others in private ward will actually make you feel that they are your extra patients as well(hehehe). the schedule: 12hours a day. 2 consecutive working days then two consecutive off duty days. then after 4 am shift they will rotate you to 4pm shift. EX:

day 1&2:7am-7pm; day3&4:off; day5&6:7am-7pm; day7&8:off; day9&10:7pm-7am; day11&12:off; day13&14:7pm-7am; day15&16:off

then repeat the sched. you will actually gain the skills that you need there.

hope you join us, as a volunteer, do not worry, they will not let you handle a maximum of 18 patients, there will always be a nurse next to you, you will assist each other. hope this helps!

I am a new nurse, graduated in 2006 and a passer of the Philippine nursing licensure exam June 2006 and the NCLEX-RN in May 2007. I am in USA right now..June 2007. I have tried to apply thru the agencies here in US. But I've hesitated to push thru my application because when it comes to the experiences in the hospital, I am inadequate. My only experience as a nurse are my nursing student's experiences. DO I, an inexperienced nurse, HAVE THE CHANCES TO BE HIRED IN US hospital? or do I have to go back home to the Philippines to get hospital experiences and also to RETAKE THE PHIL. Licensing exam (because of CGFNS' banning of our batch). Thanks for any suggestions or ideas.

You have no choice but to return to the Philippines and write the NLE. You will not be able to get a visa to work in the US as you will not be able to get a Visa Screen Certificate without that.

That is your bigger issue over anything else. Does not even matter if you have a year of experience, the issue is that the US government will not issue you a visa. Start with getting the NLE passed. You could have taken that already two times, but now have to wait until December to write that exam again.

And what type of visa are you on? If the tourist visa, there are no visas available for you to stay in the first place. Highly recommend that you work on passing that exam first. If you never took it, then it would not be an issue. But since you did, you have to retake it.

You can get experience while you are back there if you want, but also be aware that the field of nursing in PI is extremely different from the way that things are practiced over here.

I highly suspect that if you wrote the exam in May, and then came here in June, that you have done so on a tourist visa. Most would have written the exam here otherwise if they already had a green card or even a US passport.

i have a friend who came in also in june and is searching for a hospital in CA. will let you know. sent me a private message. i will let you speak with her.

And if they came in June on a tourist visa with the idea of staying, they will be doing so illegally. Not a wise thing to do at all. There is not a thing that a hospital can do when there are no visas available.

Specializes in general ward.

Hi there..im also a 2006 june passer..i took the cgfns exam last march 14 2007 and i passed..but unfortunately i have to retake the test 3 & 5 last june 11 2007 in order to get the visa screen..however since you are already the US and if ur already a US citizen and have passed their state board exam i dont think there is much use for you to have the retake exam..the retake was only for issuance of visa screen certificate..
