What's the process for Filipinos registering in Ontario

Many things have changed here since this thread was first begun nearly three years ago. Jobs for internationally educated nurses (IENs) are not as plentiful as they were, in fact many Canadian nurses are out of work right now. Ontario, BC and Alberta have drastically cut back on new hires and it doesn't look like that is going to change any time soon. There are many threads here that explain the process for emigrating to Canada; they are not in the Canadian forum because that forum is set aside for nurses already working in Canada to discuss issues important to them. All questions related to immigration are to be found in the International Forum, where this is moving as soon as I'm finished.

One thing that has not changed is that every application is assessed on its own merits. The only blanket statement that can be made is that all IEN education is assessed in direct comparison with nursing education provided in Canada and decisions made based on equivalency.
