Can anyone give me an idea about what wages are like in any of the provinces? Realistically, how do they compare to your cost of living? I've tried to google, but came up short. All responses would be appreciated!

You can try http://www.alis.gov.ab.ca which should give you averages for Alberta for registered RN's and so forth. There should be a link to an Alberta Wage Survey and you can take it from there.

I tried to find the contract online, but I couldn't find it this time. I have before but some of the locals websites aren't working. You could try some other time by going to Google and searching sites from Canada and type in ONA. This will give you the Central Bargaining contracts and then each local has a local agreement. As you may already know the current contract expired and it has gone to arbritration.

ONA contract is expired since March 31, 2004. Negotiations are still underway with central which is all of Ontario and local which is your hospital you are employed with.
What do you want to know? PM me your questions and I will assist.
Regards,
Sarah
