hello everyone! i'll be writing the CRNE this FEb 2010. it will be my thirda ttempt and i'm in desperation of finding any useful resources to successfully pass the exam. I'm from Calgary and I have done everything I could on the previous examinations and I still failed. They are offering a 3day course in Edmonton and I'm not sure if it is any help as the readiness exam from CNA did not help me that much. If anyone of you who are reading this right, please help, help! I'm searcing online for any enhanced prep course but i could not find one here in Calgary! could anyone of you please, if you know anything, help and thank you in advance!

You realize that you've posted 11 times in 4 days with essentially the same information, don't you? There are many, many posts in several threads that give all the information you could possibly need, except for specific information related to Calgary. Even that has been answered - Call the U of C or Mount Royal... OR where you went to school - and ask them! If you're hoping that someone will just hand you all the answers, you're going to be disappointed. This site has a really great tool called the Google keyword search. Scroll up to the top of the page. Right over the yellow tab for the regional forums, there's a box that says "Google custom search" in it. Click on that box. Now type in "CRNE prep" then click on the "search" button to the far right and you will have hundreds of posts to choose from. Just because it's not addressed specifically to you doesn't mean it's not helpful.

Hi:

I took CRNE preparation course in Macwan University Edmonton August 09. It really helped me to understand competencies for Registered Nurses Profession. I am educated in USA and was RN there but did not know what to expect in CRNE.

This course gave me some idea about 'types of' questions and also helped me to practice little bit with questions. There were many from Calgary and few from out of province all of those I got in touch with passed the exam in a single attempt. What I used for the prep was:

1. This Course

2. CRNE prep guide

3. Mosby's Comprehensive guide for Canadian RN Exam

3. Lippincot

I would suggest you to take this class. It will definitely help you. Good luck...I hope you will pass it this time !!!

thanks very much for the info. appreciate it!

My advice is to stay away from message boards and the internet and hit books and study!!

how about stop going on the internet asking for advice on how to pass a test, and maybe study? I've heard that works wonders.

I wonder when seeking advice from those who had gone through the exam had became a crime !!! You need a break once a while while you are studying for the exam. I wish you good luck and hope you pass with flying colors this time...

When the same question by the same poster is posted multiple times it's annoying.

Yes, take a break but don't hound posters on a message board. It's a message board not a chat room. The Cdn. forum isn't active 24/7.

Hi,

I'm in a similar situation. I'm doing my 3rd attempt this Fall. I'm just really curious how you did the third time, what helped you get through? Let me know and hope you did pass.
