Interviews in the Philippines:What to Expect?

What do they usually ask? Are there Philippine Nurses here who had experienced or undergone personal interviews with executives of American Hospitals? Are there questions related to our local work environment vis-a-vis the american way?

I'm having butterflies in my stomach thinking about my forthcoming interviews with 2 american hospitals who are arriving in manila by the end of this month not knowing what to expect.

please help!

hi, nurse recruiters or nurse managers asked a lot of questions. they may ask you what are your strenghts, and weaknesses. they will ask you certain nursing questions, like..." what are you gonna do if....", or " how do you take care of such and such patients"...they might ask you how do you cope with stress?, that includes what are your hobbies? sometimes they will ask " what are your goals in the next 5 yrs....blah, blah, blah..i would actually practice talking to myself in the mirror, don't worry about your accent because i knew most of us filipinos are so anxious about that. answer them truthfully, honestly, maintain eye contact, practice good body posture, try not to slouch, smile, introduce yourself " hi, my name is....., nice to meet you ma'am, sir,..also shake their hands firmly. be positive, practice, practice, practice. i hope this will help? goodluck!

rnhawaii,

thank you very much for the heads-up! i'll surely take note on all advise you mentioned. it gives me some direction to work on as this would be my first time to be interviewed by foreign employers. from what i know, there would be more than 250 nurses joining the interview and i'm really geared up to get a slot from the quota of just 100 they are intending to hire.

i just dont want surprises that will leave me stunned, just in case. hoping i'll be able to make it.
