hi everyone! i'm new here. anyway, i have a question.

i spoke to someone about her upcoming embassy interview. she was asked in her packet 4 to bring her ITR. what if i don't have a job and did volunteer work only? will i be denied of a visa?

thanks! hope you can help me on this!

No you will not be denied a visa. Your getting the visa is dependent on the new job that you will have in the US.

okay. thanks! i was really worried there. :-)

Suzanne, same question, how about those nurses who are working but don't have ITR? I know several of them here in Phil.

I'm confused.

Are they requiring ITR now? I never heard of this requirement before. Is it the employer's ITR or the nurse's ITR?

I think it's the nurse's ITR, a close friend of mine had problems with this since she works as nurse but never had ITR.

yes, my friend said it was her ITR that the embassy was looking for. she hasn't had her interview yet. she'll tell me if she'll have any problems or not.

i do know a lot of nurses working as volunteers so no ITR can be produced.

Precy, what did your friend do? was she denied?

thanks.

I have never heard of anyone needing their own tax returns from their country to work in the US.

I was interviewed last April and i received the letter where it asked about the ITR. I think its the ITR of your petitioner if you are being petitioned by a member of family, that is the explanation given to us by our agency. Anyway i did not knew that before, so what I did was I asked the BIR in our city for a certification that I am exempted to file an ITR for my income is not sufficient ( I do volunteer work also). They give me one but well during interview ITR was never asked of me to produce only my Current Job Offer and my Visa Screen and if you passed NCLEX , they will asked for your result and if you dd not have NCLEX you will still be given a visa as long as you have completed their requirements.

thanks, for making it clear.

Actually, my friend is just waiting for the interview, what she told me is her ITR, hope she's wrong and the above post is true.

I received my packet 4 today, and it doesn't say anything about an ITR...

There's a note on one of the pages that said "If you have not provided tax information for the most recent tax filing year, you must bring them with you to the visa interview." And just as the others said, this sounds like a requirement for family-based or K-1 petitions. It's placed on a sheet separate from the list of other requirements.
