I am having my IELTS on 11th of march and since I scheduled my exam I've been having butterflies in my stomach. I purchaced the IELTS specimen materials but I am not sure that this is the only help I need.

Can you advise me on any helpful site that I can use?

Where can I get some tips about the exam?

The worst is that CGFNS requires the Academic module which is much more difficult than the General training module.

Please, share your experience about the English exam.

Thank you

hello starbin:

i am interested in taking the ielts, i have passed the paper based toefl test but still it is required that i pass the speaking section. so as you know the toefl has changed (now is the new toefl ibt) and i think that the ielts is easier to pass than the toefl ibt, what do you think about this?.

an also, please recommend some books to prepare for this test (the name and the edition please). thank you in advance for your responses

there are varieties of accents, not only british..but australian and american also...listening was not that difficult. it was very clear, they paly an audio for the whole room. but fortunately the room was small and we were only 10-12 examinee, so it was very clear. i am not kidding but i was expecting to score 9 out of 9 in listening. the result was 8.

reading needs some practice to read fast, and scan..you have plenty time..you can prepare very well. just e-mail me whenever you need the writing stuff.

I can't believe that I've taken IELTS for the 4th times and I keep getting 6.0 in the spoken part. I need a band of 7.0. I have the feeling that there is a discrepancy from the scorers. I got a good score with the listening, written and reading section except the spoken part. I believe that I did pretty good in the recent test including the spoken part. I am hesitant to request for a remarking because the fee would cost for another test. The test fee cost almost $300 in Canada. I am very discourage right now:o . Can anyone share me some tips to obtain the passing score in the speaking part? I would appreciate...

Thank you

HI Everyone,

I'm sure that I'm not reading carefully but should I take general or academic IELTS exam for registration in Ontario? The other, can I take my nursing exam before the English test?

Here are some tips for the speaking part...

1. voice should be loud enough for the conversation

2. maintain a good eye contact

3. avoid unnecessary movements

4. sit up staight

5. speak with confidence

6. go directly to the point

Hope this helps. Good luck.
