I plan to take the NCLEX.

However, I haven't applied yet to any state. I've learned that each state has its advantages based on your posts.

Can you please give me a good state to apply? I'm not much concerned with fast processing. I'm more concern with having less problems in paperwork and that means I don't wish to take the CGFNS examination.

I don't intend to go to an agency either. Please help because I am dumbfounded by the many facets of the application.

I am not an expert on this. But most states now do not require the CGFNS anymore. But they do require the services of CGFNS in evaluating the elibilibity of the applicant.

There are states that do their own evaluation, like California, you just submit your application and have your school send your TOR and thats it.

The drawback with Ca is that once you passed the NCLEX, they won't give you a license unless you have a SSN#. Anyway, the letter they will send you that you passed the NCLEX can be used for immigration purposes.

Since, you are from Zamboanga and and if you were a graduate of either ADZU or WMSU then it would be no problem. I don't know with the other schools there.

Thanks Rep. But I was thinking of the State of New York or maybe New Jersey. Any comments on these states?

Much appreciated.

NY requires the CVS from CGFNS while NJ requires the CES also from CGFNS.

You can learn more about those on http://www.CGFNS.org and go directly to the State's website for instructions on http://www.ncsbn.org

You are not going to find a hospital in NY to petition you, unless you want to work in a nursing home with thirty or more patients, suggest that you look at another state.

Thanks for the info, suzanne4. Could you give me info on NJ? Not the requirements...more info on the job atmosphere. Just like what you stated earlier on NY.

Many thanks! :saint:

NJ hospitals will petition, NJ requires the CES.

As far as work and living conditions there, they can vary widely. Those closest to NYC will pay more but also have higher cost of living attached to that.
