i already applied for SSN the other day and they say that i will be recieving it within 10 days to 2 weeks and fiancee visa's are allowed to work legally till my I-94 expires and it will be on april 24,2007.Suzane i really appreciate ur replies i hope u wont mind me asking again about this. i am a BSN graduate so im i allowed also to take the NCLEX-PN or graduate of BSN can only take NCLEX-RN?cos i am planning to take NCLEX-PN too.

your reply is really much appreciated

i was also able to get here in the US through a fiancee's visa. i know that you have to have both the EAD and SSN before you can apply to jobs in the US because employers are looking for the EAD before they hire you. they do not look at your visa but your EAD. so Suzanne is right, you cannot just work with a SSN. you have to wait after you get married and then file for the adjustment of status and for EAD.

do i still have to take IELTS or TOFEL before i can take the licensure exam here in NY?

If you have a fiance visa, then you do not need to take the English exams for immigraiton purposes. That does not mean that a facility will not require an exam or proof of your English skills.
