Hi! im 20 years old and i am graduating this comming march, hehe too long, well thats life. i am thinking if i should take board exam first here in philippines before i will go to USA next year to take for enclex or exams for Nurses in US? pls i really want to know if the administration will let me take the enclex exam in USA even i did not take local board exam in philppines?

and is there a filipino nurse work in Hospital in Oregon USA? pls tell me how much they pay (10$ per hour versus 30-50$ per hour for nurses..what is the truth?:)

Yes, you can sit for the NCLEX without taking the boards in the Philippines, but it is highly recommended that you do. If you do not have a tourist visa, you will be waiting about two years for your green card. You will also need to complete the series of English exams.

Check out the sticky that is posted for what you need to do. In Oregon right now, you can expect a salary in the $20 range as a new grad. California and New York pay more but your cost of living is also much higher.

Good luck................... :balloons:

thank you for your reply.i married to a american guy so i will be immigrant when i get there, in enclex exam is that all multiple choice?

The NCLEX is multiple choice for the most part, you may get a few of the new format questions in which you have to pick more than one correct answer. Know how to prioritize and go over disaster triage and planning.

You should be doing 100 review questions every night when it gets closer to the time for you to take your exam, and have completed about 3000 to 4000 questions.

Remember that you will not be able to apply to a state for licensing until after you have completed all of your classes and have received a final transcript. That is needed if you are a foreign grad.

Hope that this helps................

Your transcripts will need to be sent directly from your nursing school to the Board of Nursing in the state where you wish to be licensed. It will take several months for you to even get teh ATT letter from the BON to be able to even write the exam. ATT stands for Authorization to Test. The NCLEx exam can be written where ever there si a testing center for the exam. Since you are amrried to an American, you do not need to go thru the Visa Screen process, however, some states will still require that you take at least the TOEFL exam, some require even the TSE exam. You will need to check with the state where you wish to get licensed.

Have you even started the paperwork for your visa to go to the US? That usually takes at least six months................
