Florida license

  1. For those of you that trained in other countries, how long is the process taking for licensure in Florida? I have heard that the Florida BON is taking a long time to process anything, even for natives. I am trying to compile a list for some of my students that are actually interested in working in Florida.

    Thanks in advance.

Suzanne - I cant get my Florida License yet as I dont have a SSN number...but as soon as I get it I can get a temporary License which will last for 30 days...I am concerned because they seem to be taking a long time to deal with anything and as I cant get my SSN number until I arrive there - it will be a stressful time..lol

I originally posted this thread one year ago, and it still seems to hold true.
Again, for all of you newbies reading these threads, go for initial licensure in NY where you will get a hard copy license immediately. Then you can endorse to almost any other state.
