Bulk message from [email protected]

Hi everyone:

I am one of those who received a bulk message from [email protected] congratulating me for passing the nclex-rn exam. I took it last September in Manila, Philippines. I'm so bothered coz until now I still dont have that letter from ncsbn as confirmation if I passed or failed. Can somebody give some lights to this? Thank you.

You will never receive an actual letter from NCSBN that you passed. That would be the responsibility of your respective BON. Yes, NCSBN will have a copy of their own on who passed but they will never send any letter or e-mail that you passed the NCLEX because they are not the ones that will give your license number; it will be your State BON and depending on w/c BON you applied for licensure the results could either be thru snail mail such as from CA BRN or an on-line look-up of your license and/or name on your BON's website on the list of licensed nurses or even an e-mail. It depends on your respective BON.

Check out your respective BON's website.

Can you tell us which state you applied for a NCLEX exam? It's looking quite positive if you have received a message congratulating you. Anyway, good luck and keep us posted.

I would disagree with Lawrence on this one. I've recently took the NCLEX exam last month and passed. Then few days later I've received an email from ncsbn.org congratulating me for passing the exam so that is why I said it's looking positive for dranreb.

Although I'll have to agree that knowing and getting the results directly from the state you've applied is the absolute certainty.

That is what they are doing now because of the surveys but the actual confirmation should be coming from your State BON. And that is what dranreb is inquiring about. You cannot use that 'congratulations' from NCSBN to file a petition nor an employer accept that. You have to give either the actual letter of confirmation that you passed the NCLEX coming from your State BON (such as the letter from CA BON) or your hard license from your State BON that gives licenses w/o the SSN requirement. That is what dranreb is bothered about. He will never receive one coming from NCSBN. That is only done in conjunction with their survey and once the survey has been completed, there would be no more bulk messages to be given w/ the accompanying 'congratulations'.

The letter or the hard license or any other proof of passing should be coming directly from the State BON.

Coincidentally, those who passes the NCLEX-RN on States that gives hard licenses w/o the US SSN can actually see their names on their respective State BON's on-line look-up of US licensed RNs in just a couple of days after passing the exam and that is better proof of one being licensed. Other acceptable 'hard' proof are the actual hard license or the letter from their State BON of passing the NCLEX (suhc as from CA BRN). The 'congratulations' from NCSBN is not considered 'hard' proof and esp. if it is done in conjunction with a survey. The results from Pearson-Vue's quick-result program (results within 24-48 hours after exam) for a $8 fee is also not considered 'hard' proof as well for legal and/or petition purposes, esp. since majority of State BON actually post the names of newly licensed nurses on their website within 48-72 hours or so anyway. And that is a better proof since that is public record. You can even look up some one else's name that you know of from the State BON's website if you want to confirm if he is truly licensed on that State or had his licensed revoked. Coincidentally, many so-called reviewers in PH either has a revoked license or an expired one and anybody can look that their names as well.

Only States such as CA BRN that do not give licenses w/o a US SSN will not include your name on their on-line list of licensed nurses and so you have to wait for the hard letter to be mailed to you.

Hope this clears things up a bit.

It was very clear on dranreb's post that he still don't know if he pass or fail. I don't disagree with most of what you said. I was only telling dranreb that I have received same message from ncsbn congratulating me for passing the NCLEX exam. I didn't say in any way that you'll receive an actual letter of confirmation from ncsbn that you've passed the nclex exam. In fact on your last reply you have recognized that ncsbn are doing it now which was contradicting to your other post that you said "NCSBN will never send you a letter or email that you've passed the NCLEX exam".

I am only trying to clear things up as well.;)

Thank you lawrence01 and king arthur for your informations. It's been helpful. By the way I took CA NCLEX last September 26 in Manila Philippines. It's been over 1 month and a half already since I took the exam and no letter yet coming from CA BON/NCSBN for a hard copy that I passed, it's only an emailed survey from NCSBN congratulating me for passing the exam. I dont know how long I'm still going to wait. I really wanted to send CA BON request for verification of NCLEX results to be forwarded to CGFNS/ICHP for my visa screen certificate since I already passed IELTS. Is this possible without that letter/hardcopy of my NCLEX results? Thank you.

You are not going to be receiving a hard copy license if you do not have a SSN#. You will only receive a letter from CA BRN that you have passed the exam and have three years to submit the SSN#, or your application will be destroyed.

There is no hard copy of anything since there will not be any license issued.

It's only usually 2-4 weeks from CA BRN but could sometimes take longer. Some people receive it only after 6-8 weeks or so.

Your letter from CA RBN will arrive soon.

He already received a congratulatory note that was accompanied in the survey. That was already understood by me and dranreb from the start. He also understood that that e-mail w/ the accompanying congratulations does not mean much, esp. since it is done in conjunction with a survey and done in bulk. He was asking for an actual letter for confirmation. That's what he was asking for and I promptly answered that there would be no such letter of confirmation coming directly from NCSBN, either a snail mail form or an e-mail form that he can print as hard proof. I am not contradicting myself. You misunderstood my explanation.

I understand that I will not receive any license since I dont have SSN. What I meant for a hard copy is the letter from CA BON as confirmation that I passed NCLEX. I only got a congratulations email in a survey by NCSBN. Can I possibly send CA BON request for verification of my NCLEX results to be forwarded to ICHP for my VSC even without that snail mail/letter ( whatsoever! ) from CA BON?

Best that you wait first to be sure. It's prob. on it's way anyway since it has already been 1.5 mos.

You have to send ICHP's license verification form (same thing you will give to PRC for your verification of your local license) to them and request that it be completed and sent to ICHP and include the $60 fee for their ICHP Visa Screen Service (under their misc. fees schedule fee on their website).

Coincidentally, if you would like a copy of the test results too you can request it be sent to you as well for an additional $10 fee (also under misc. fees). This 'copy of test results' is actually the letter given to them by NCSBN, complete w/ the NCSBN logo and your digital picture taken on the pearson testing center. It will only actually say that you passed the NCLEX exam but will mention your State BON/BRN, where and when you took the exam and your digital picture. Just an additional proof of passing the exam.
