Hi,

I have arrived in London and am in the process of finialising my employment with the nurses agency . When I left Australia, they told me that they gave us one free uniform and free CRB. Now, I know this is true because it also said it in the Nursing Times magazine.

In Australia, we get the nursing times magazine about 3 months behind.

I saw the add myself in a number of issues around December and January. I didn't think I would need the add as I was told the information anyway and so it is back in Australia :uhoh3:

Anyway, now the agency say that without the add I will have to pay for the CRB AND UNIFORM, A TOTAL OF 53 POUNDS :angryfire The reason I went with this agency was because they said it was free amongst other things such as personal recommendation ect.

Now, I am wondering if anyone has a back issue of the Nursing Times and if so, would they mind giving me the add with the details of the CRB and Uniform. It was December/January issue. I shall pay a small fee and collect at my expense if you require.

When I told the agency where I saw it, they didn't deny it existed but said it was a special offer and the voucher was needed.

Please PM me if you can help in any way.

Thanks so much

Have you tried going to a university/hospital library they usually have back dated copies of nursing times that you can look at. I have a copy for 9-15 Dec 03 but nothing is mentioned in that one

Hope you are enjoying your stay up to now

Hi, I have got one and all is sorted!

Excuse my poor typing this morning, time is money in an internet cafe, time I have, money I haven't.

I can't start work for about a month until the CRB is done. Just as well I had organized to go flitting around Europe!

Specializes in Paed Ortho, PICU, CTICU, Paeds Retrieval.

Your best bet is to head down to Oxford Circus, look out for John Lewis store. Right behind that (on Cavendish Square) is the Royal College of Nursing. You will be able to find the backdated Nursing Times there in the library, although you may need to have an RCN id to get through the front door.
