hi there, just want to know if ever i apply in saudi can my family go with me even if im willing to pay for our own accomodation? or are there hospitals that allow family members to stay with the nurse in their assigned accomdations? thanks so much. im a registered nurse in the philippines and i am thinking about the pros and cons in working in saudi. replies will be appreciated thanks.

usually no, you cannot bring your family. there is no family status for filipino nurses, from what i know. doctors, however, can bring their families. the employer will sponsor you and if you want to bring your family there, you will have to find sponsors for them or you will have to ask your employer to help sponsor them. after you get permission from your hospital, you will have to have a certain salary range and you have to be employed in the hospital for a couple of months. then you will have to pay for their visas which are a bit expensive. they cannot stay with you in your accomodations if the one assigned to you is for single status.

UAE usually has family status for nurses. the family can join the nurses there after a couple of months. but from what i know, this is not done in saudi.

its hard for them to follow

okay thanks gorgeous777! hmmm... maye ill try asking agencies around for a specific vacancy in the UAE. but anyway i'm still thinking things through if ever its a good move for me and my family. thanks again!

Personally, I would say not a good move for you and your family if you have children. They will have to live in a compound and will not have the freedoms that they are used to.
