New Grad Programs Indianapolis

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to know what new grad programs are available in Indianapolis. I'm a new grad from California but am considering moving to Indianapolis because my bf currently lives there for school. I appreciate any suggestions.

I don't know that there are any new grad "programs" but hospitals in the area are starting to hire again and many of the larger systems will consider new grads, but usually in med/surg areas. If you are serious about moving here, start by obtaining your Indiana RN license. Many will not consider your resume unless/until you've applied & are in pending status. Then look at websites for the major hospitals in/around Indy for new grad positions.

Good luck! Be careful that your decision is well thought out though, and make sure you have a back-up plan. There are many stories, not just in nursing, about moving for your significant other and being stuck in a place you hate if things somehow go awry in the relationship. This happened to one of my friends when she broke up with her boyfriend after moving in with him, and she hates where she's at, but she needs the work experience so she's sticking it out for now. I'm not from Indianapolis, but I do live in Indiana, and, at least where I'm located, the job prospect for new grads is quite optimistic compared to other places.
