IVY TECH LPN admissions

  1. 0 I think I may be very disappointed.

I was planning on taking pre-reqs this summer and fall of 2010 with hopes of applying to LPN program in Spring. However does anyone know if you can apply to Spring LPN program if you will have the pre-reqs completed at the end of FALL but not before application deadline??

    Thanks,
    Kevin

Unfortunately, you have to have your pre-req's completed in the fall before you apply for the spring program. However, if you apply for the fall, and you're finishing your prereq's in the spring, they will wait to go through the apps until grades are posted. Hope this helps!

    Thanks.

Do you know how hard it is to get accepted into the LPN program vs. the ASN program? Do I have a good chance of getting in when I apply to enter the LPN provided I have A's?

I applied for both programs in both the fall and spring and got accepted into the LPN this spring. I'd say it's a lot easier to get accepted into Spring versus Fall, because none of my grades had changed and I didn't retake the TEAS.

    Hi,

Thanks for answer. Do you feel comfortable telling me your scores/grades?

    Thanks!

Yes. I would say that if you apply to both programs with all As and a good TEAS and don't get into the ASN you would probably be set as an alternate for the ASN and admitted into LPN. As far as I know the LPN program is much easier because they don't have as many applicants.

Is it possible to get accepted into the LPN program with 1 A and 3 B's for the 4 pre-req's and an 80 on the TEAS??

It all depends on the applicant pool

I was wondering if anyone knew what the high and low points were for the LPN for spring or fall?? I'm trying to figure out if I have a chance and I know it depends on who else applies and what their points are but wanted a comparison. Thanks.

I've been trying to figure this out, as well. I applied to the LPN in Lawrence and have no clue what my chances are of getting in to it. If you figure out any past numbers please let me know!

I'm thinking that either we are posting in the wrong forum and the students who were accepted into the program haven't read our post or there is something up with being able to post your scores. I was really surprised that no one had responded. I realize that it is all based on your co-applicants but history on the numbers would make me feel a little better so I could see how close I am. I am applying in Bloomington.

I agree...this waiting game is KILLING me, especially since classes are over now-it would really ease my mind to know scores of past applicants accepted. I applied to both programs in Lawrence. If I don't get in, I will probably apply to more programs next time around, but I'm just praying I can start school in the fall. Also, since I applied to both programs I may get that denial letter from the ASN first...which is going to send me through major anxiety waiting for that final decision about the LPN!

Does anyone know how it works when sending out letters: people who applied to multiple campus and select an ASN program at one campus vs the LPN at another and how they go about filling up each program?

Hi ladies-Where did you apply at? I applied at Logansport, Kokomo and Lafayette. I just had a friend graduate from the LPN school in Logansport. I can tell you he was not an A student. Do any of you have facebook? We could commnicate a little easier on there about getting our acceptance/denial letters (hopefully acceptance) on there!
