Just wondering whatever happened to your situation? Did you ever find employment with a probationary license?

I am in the process. I was upfront about my license and the restrictions. I faxed over the probation order I received from ISBN. I asked the HR person if it will affect my eligibility of getting hired. She said no. They need the information to see what their part will be as part of my probation. That was today…so we will see how this goes.

It is to my understanding to seek LTC jobs. I have not applied to any of those facilities yet. I am waiting, hoping to get started with this facility.

I wanted to give an update. I decided to appeal the original decision the BON made. I went back in front of the BON with my attorney. Long story short…the reversed their original decision and granted my licensure free and clear. I start orientation next Monday. The hospital I will be working at was okay with a probationary licensure. The problem was that I was originally restricted from pediatrics. That is what hurt me because nurses at this facility float between Med/Surg and Peds when the census is crazy. So, the hospital already was made aware of the original decision.

That is great that they overturned the first decision. I just had my indiana rn license put on probation for six months for answering yes to the renewal question about termination, bc i was terminated from two positions for alleged policy violations. One was for using the company computer for personal internet use after I worked there for 2.5 years which was crazy. The other was a home health agency where I had a home care patient with a long psychiatric hx on a lot of narcotics with hx of using illegal drugs who told a home health aide that me and her fell asleep watching a movie. She fell asleep I watched the whole movie and then went to the living room to read a school book while she slept. The patient later told the company that she didnt know why she said that but this was after they suspended me. I told them what happened and a few days later they called and said corporate decided to terminate me. I asked why they would after she took back what she said and they said because it was against policy to leave the patient alone by leaving the room. They had no policy like that and that was completely untrue because the patient was alone in her apartment daily, and we all had to leave the room when we were with her to cook her dinner and do light housekeeping. It made no sense and I have no idea how I was expected to sit in a dark room from 6p to 6a in a metal chair and never leave the room. I wish more than anything that I had had a lawyer with me. I want to appeal the decision. Both those incidents one was 2 years ago and one was 1.5 years ago. Since then I worked for over a year at a facility with no write ups and was offered a unit manager position when i put in my resignation to accept another job. Now they want me to tell my new job that i am on probation and have them send in a couple of reports on how i am doing. I dont understand why they couldnt have just asked for a report from my last employer and given me my license free and clear. Can you please tell me what lawyer you used?
