i have a pt. that is takes breathing treatments, and my question is do you give the mucomyst first or the albuterol? sorry if this seems like a dumb question. everyone at work tells me they dont think it matters, in which order it is given.

im in indiana. been an lpn for about five months, took me about a month and a half to get employment. my starting wage is 18.00 an hour, and 20.00 on the weekends, with shift differential. and overtime after 8 hrs worked in a day. i think thats pretty good for me. good luck to you!!!

:yeah:i got a few questions about some things about my new job. i graduated nursing school last year, and got my license about 3.5 months ago. i just recently got a job, i am super excited. problem is though its been a while since i've been in school. i want to brush up on some things, so what things should i brush up on? the position is in a LTC facility, if that helps. another thing is what kinds of things should i bring with me, what i mean is all the nurses i see bring a bag to work with them. what kinds of things should i be sure to bring with me. sorry for questions that seem stupid, but i am very nervous!!!!! any help appreciated!!! thanks

i signed up for occuvax also, thats the only one's i've seen in my area so far. just wondering how many hours are actually available doing this???

i am interested in doing this , i have an opportunity to do so, but would like to know if anyone has done this, any pros and/or cons? thanks

it is a great idea to work as a cna before going on to lpn or even rn. you get to see what the job entails, and usually as a cna you can determine your paycheck, if your facility you work at offers overtime on a regular basis , mine does. you can work only weekends or whatever works for you. and many places have tuition assistance, and possibly you could have a position at the facility when you get ur nursing license. as far as lpn's being phased out, imo it will never happen. i hear that's been said for years now. it's okay to be content with being an lpn, were nurses too.

thanks for all the advice, i will do some of the things suggested. the way i look at it is i did not come this far to fail now, something will happen for me when it is meant to. everything happens for a reason!!!!!

nursing is about caring for the whole patient, not just certain aspects, or parts. never forget that. i think everyone should have to become a cna first, that way you know what aides go through, what their job actually entails. cna's have more contact with the patients, so essentially they are the eyes and ears for the nurses. cna's alert nurses as to when something is wrong. if you dont want to wipe butts, or feed or bathe anyone, than nursing is not the career for you, and you should go into another field. nurses who do those things get more respect from the cna's. some of you may think, well nurses dont need the cna's respect, and thats where you are wrong. cna's are the nurses backbones. we are a team, and we are all here for the patient. being a nurse does not mean you are above doing personal care for the patient. if you have that "that's not my job" attitude, you need to lose it, or wherever you work will probaly be horrible for you. my advice to all nurses is, never ignore a call light, never refuse to take someone to the bathroom, just think if that was your loved one and a nurse was ignoring them, because all of the aides are busy, you would be pretty ticked would'nt you!!!!!

my dilemma is i have been a cna for three years now, and recently got my lpn license. but however the issue is, due to a misdemeanor on my record from january 2002 that i reported to the board of nursing on my application, and was issued six months probation with supervisor reports quarterly, (so most likely two reports.) i have been running into no we dont hire with probationary license, or i even got a job offer then the day before i was to get the physical, i got a call saying basically that they cant hire with a probationary license. i applied at the place where im working as a cna, and first it was an issue with my license, then i was told now thats not the issue, they dont have any available positions now for me. mind you ive been here three years, they now about my background. they know me and the person i am, and not what it looks like on paper. so i was basically crushed when that did'nt work out for me. i just feel depressed, down and sad. my family and children were so proud of me when i graduated nursing school, i was feeling good, i graduated with honors. i know this is what i meant to do, i love being a cna, and always dreamed of being a nurse. i cannot get the probation withdrawn until i have six months of active nursing practice, but it's starting to look like that wont happen. i am constantly thinking, why did i mention my background to the board of nursing? i feel like being honest in this situation only hurt me, not help. so does it really pay to be honest?

for all those who are still skeptical, i took nclex on 3-25, had been getting good pop up, and on 3-27, paid for my quick results, and of course passed. but guess what, my license number still isnt posted, but i know i passed. so rest assured that if u get the good popup , and even though ur license number may not be up yet, you passed. go celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and stop stressing, i know easier said then done right!!:clpty:

go to the thread labeled pearson vue trick it has over 7,000 post on it, and read the very first page and read how to do the "trick." that will tell you how to do it.

GUESS WHAT??????????????????? PVT TRICK ACTUALLY DOES WORK, JUST FOUND OUT BY "QUICK RESULTS", THAT I DID PASS. HAD BEEN GETTING POP UP FOR TWO DAYS, BUT OF COURSE I WAS SKEPTICAL LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I AM OFFICIALLY AN LPN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i still keep getting the good pop up, but my license number has not showed up yet, so i just hope i am not siking my self up for nothing. i want to believe that i passed because of this trick, but i dont know. just impatiently waiting!!!
