UIC's GEP Fall 2014

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Just looking to see if anyone else out there has applied to UIC's GEP for Fall 2014. I just finished my application.

I have an undergraduate degree (1994) from Iowa State in Art & Design and a Master's degree (1996) from UIC in Art Therapy. Hopefully my alumni status will increase my chances.

I live in the western suburbs of Chicago and, if accepted, will commute.

How about you?

Thank you so much! Really appreciate all of your feedback. Where do classes usually meet at UIC? Did you have interviews when you applied and around when did you find out about your acceptance? Also, do you live near UIC or around the campus? I went to UIC for undergrad so was wondering where I should live or if I should commute from home...not too sure yet. Thanks!!

Sorry for the delay. We meet on the West campus. There were no interviews but they said there might be for the next class. If they do do interviews, or even for your essays, they really want to hear that you understand what nurses do, that you're motivated to do the work and commit to the rigorousness of the program and that you're committed to addressing health disparities (important to UIC in general).

I found out about my acceptance on April 15th. I live near campus. Since it's on the West campus, it's close to the blue and pink lines. You can also drive. About 4 blocks away is the Cook Country juvenile court parking garage; it costs $2.00 a day. A lot of my cohort live in Chicago, but quite a few live far enough away (ie, suburbs) that they drive or have to take the Metra + L.

Hi! I recently applied to UIC's Grad Entry MS. For those of you who started the program in 2014, how do you feel about the fact that it is an MS and not an MSN? Do you think your job chances are the same?
