Resurrection University Spring 2014 Applicants

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hello now that the Sept 1st deadline has passed and those who applied are all anxiously waiting to hear from Resurrection, I feel it's appropriate to start a thread for those who are trying to start this January. It would be great to hear from all those who are applying for spring 2014 or even those who have applied before.

To be honest with you I read some other threads about previous applicants and it seems like some people that turn in everything really early get accepted even before the official deadline. When I went to the school to turn everything in they told me that they start deciding who they accept about one month after the deadline (Oct 1st). So if anyone got accepted already please let us know.

Also 2 thing that I just found out about Resurrection that you might not have known:

-they no longer do guaranteed admissions (I believe this is a fairly recent change)

-if you apply for Spring and don't get in, you can't apply for Fall, you must wait 1 full year in between applications

-This is what I was told by the Resu staff but you might want to verify this information if it changes things for you

Anyways it would be great if I could hear where other applicants stand. To start I applied with a 3.4 gpa, I believe I had a 3.0 science gpa and an 83 on the TEAS. I think my essay was alright. But like I said since they are not doing guaranteed admission, I am still worried. Also if it matters I barely made the sept 1st deadline by a day or so.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone

Hey I didn't know guaranteed admission was no longer active, from the last time I heard from their staff which was fairly recent, they stated they still did. I also made it right on time for deadline. Admissions staff stated that people who have all the criteria will find out in the next month, and anyone who is missing things it will be delayed 2 months.

also yeah I thought that was a bummer for anyone or even myself if I don't get accepted we have to wait one full year to reapply.

Hello! I met with an admissions person the week before (I think the 28th) and he said that it will probably be late September/ early to mid October but could be even later than that. I guess they also take into consideration the people who didn't make the deadline from this fall semester as well so they tend to take longer to go through the applications. Hopefully it's closer to the end of September rather than middle of October! Do you know how they contact you? Mail, e-mail, call? Previous threads seemed a little bit varying on that.

Oh and I had a 79 for the TEAS, ~3.3 cumulative GPA, and ~3.6 science GPA

I heard that it will be both email and calling. More than likely it we will hear in about 2 weeks hopefully. When I called last week they said in about 3-4 more weeks we'll probably find out. It makes me uneasy when I read the last spring applicant thread and they already accepted like 15 people by late august. I'm sure they probably have accepted some people already for spring 2014, hopefully they'll get to us soon.

The wait is killing me! I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard with so much suspense. I'm debating whether or not to call again since I just called last week and I don't want to annoy them.

Has anyone heard anything?

Nope, haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully we'll hear something soon. I am glued to my email and phone everyday!

Yeah I haven't heard anything yet either. I always keep my phone on and charged by my side though! If I don't hear anything by October, 18 then I'm going to give them a call!

Well the anxiety finally got the best of me and I gave admissions a call.

Good news and bad news. The bad news is that some people have already been accepted (she didn't know how much)

I will assume is it people who turned in their applications a lot earlier. She said it is usually a month after you turn in the application that we will find out. It's been past a month so it should be any day now.

The good news is she said there are 72 spots left!! Plenty enough space for us 3.

Keep your phones on hand.

I finally got the call just a few minutes ago :) I'm in!!!! So everyone stay glued to your phones.

Congratulations on being accepted Yazmin! Every time my phone rings I think its Resurrection calling and I sprint to answer my phone.

Was it only a call or did they email you? Did they tell you what the next steps were? (financial aid, drug screening, orientation, books etc?)

One more question: Just to get a better timeline on how long they took to reply, How close to the deadline did you turn in the application? A day or so or was it like a week before the deadline?

Sorry if I'm being too intrusive I just can't stand not knowing anything.

congrats again, I'm hoping I'll get the call soon

Hi all, I finished my application around mid-August and I heard September 17 via a phone call from John Pechacek. I've started all the requirements but I haven't heard anything about orientation yet. Have any of you received information on orientation?

So I had everything turned in to admissions by September 1st. John said I would also receive an email, and a letter in the mail stating acceptance. Next steps are going online doing background checks, drug tests, etc and also completing and turning in enrollment form with 150.00 deposit towards tuition within 30 days of acceptance.
