Hello now that the Sept 1st deadline has passed and those who applied are all anxiously waiting to hear from Resurrection, I feel it's appropriate to start a thread for those who are trying to start this January. It would be great to hear from all those who are applying for spring 2014 or even those who have applied before.
To be honest with you I read some other threads about previous applicants and it seems like some people that turn in everything really early get accepted even before the official deadline. When I went to the school to turn everything in they told me that they start deciding who they accept about one month after the deadline (Oct 1st). So if anyone got accepted already please let us know.
Also 2 thing that I just found out about Resurrection that you might not have known:
-they no longer do guaranteed admissions (I believe this is a fairly recent change)
-if you apply for Spring and don't get in, you can't apply for Fall, you must wait 1 full year in between applications
-This is what I was told by the Resu staff but you might want to verify this information if it changes things for you
Anyways it would be great if I could hear where other applicants stand. To start I applied with a 3.4 gpa, I believe I had a 3.0 science gpa and an 83 on the TEAS. I think my essay was alright. But like I said since they are not doing guaranteed admission, I am still worried. Also if it matters I barely made the sept 1st deadline by a day or so.
Looking forward to hearing from everyone
Hi Yazmin,
I'm in the middle of sorting out this whose mess right now. You probably figured it out by now, but you go to your primary for the physical, titers (and vaccinations depending on results), and flu shot. All the forms will need to be uploaded onto the Magnus portal. Background check is no biggie. I still have to take my drug test and finish the health quizzes. I'll be glad when the 15th finally passes. The last month has been a whirlwind.
I notice we kinda live in the same area! I'm maybe a 20 minute walk from Portage.
Hello future classmates! I have avoided this site like a plague while waiting for the call, just too anxious and scared. I submitted my application a day or two before the deadline and I just received a call from John Pechacek yesterday. My overall GPA just made the cut and I'm certain that's what placed me so far back. Keep your head up if you're still waiting! I was told I would get an answer by the end of October but I didn't hear until 11/06. Mr. Pechacek said they had a lot to go through.
Congrats to those that got in! I have a week to get all my immunizations in along with the health quizzes ahhh >_
Went directly to the uniform store for sizing to try everything on so that there was no question about returns or exchanges, and an effort to avoid any late or re-stock orders. Got 2 pairs of shoes, 3 pairs, of pants, 3 polos, and one lab coat so far. Just the bare essentials to start the first semester off right.
Hello everyone!
Congratulations to all who got accepted for Spring '14. I am so overwhelmed with all the extra things that need to be done like background chk drug test n all. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to have it all taken care of? I am registering today for my tests. I got orientatin dates in my email as well today. I picked Nov 21st or Nov 25th as my availability. So i will probably be orienting on either one of those dates. Anyone already been to an orientation yet? Checked the schedule also and it looks intense. Ordered my stethoscope from amazon... Got a great deal $5.95 for a steth with really good reviews. Now if everything else for Nursing school can have such great deals it wud be great!!

Hello!
Well I left everything till the last minute. I already had insurance, immunizations, and flu shot up to date so that helped. I went to doctor's office on friday Nov. 8th to get titers done and received all results today. I turned in background and drug test payments Nov. 7th, did drug test Nov. 8th and results are all in. Also just finished my health stream quizzes. Hope this helped some, good luck!

Thank you! I finally had a chance to fill out my background check and drug test and immunization tracker. I made all the payments but it did not tell me where to go for drug test. I got emails from them but they are just basically payment confirmations. How does that work and where am i going for this drug test? And my immunization tracker looks like it needs me to upload a million things. I am really lost! Need help with the following:-
1) where can i access the health stream modules and quizzes to upload the transcript? And are those quizzes hard?
2) what is the difference between the student health record form and the complete physical?
3) do you get separate titer results for every titer? Cant it just be uploaded once?
4) Can all this be done at my regular doctors office?
5) how long does it take to get the results?
Any input would be very helpful!

Yeah it does seem like a lot to be uploaded but once you get everything cleared it shouldn't be too bad. So to answer your questions:
1. The quizzes are not hard they are based of the slide presentations of each section and not all of them have quizzes. At the end there is a tab that says my transcripts where you can print out your transcript or save copy to upload onto magnus health.
here is the link for those modules
2. I'm not sure if there is a difference I uploaded my completed physical forms to the certificate compliance tab and complete med. hx and physical examination tab. Currently waiting for it to be approved.
3. Yes, each test will be separate, once you get titer results make sure you upload combined forms; meaning upload your titer results and vaccine hx then you can combine them. If you have neg. titer for rubella and proof of vaccine hx for rubella/mmr you only have to upload it where it says "Rubella titer" and for "rubella neg. titer" you can select "not applicable".
4. I believe so because you can even have a Nurse Practitioner complete your physical forms, and have NP order your titer tests. Make sure you get a copy of your vaccine hx and get all titers ordered Hep B, rubella, mumps, varicella, rubeola even if you have vaccines for them already.
5. Well you PPD test takes 48-72 hours for it to be read so if you get it done tomorrow a nurse can read results by Thursday or Friday. My physical appt was really fast I got all tests and Tdap vaccine on Nov. 8th and my titer results were ready by Nov 11. So it depends on how fast their lab gets results in for you.
Thank you so much yazmincabanas89 for all the info and help you have provided!
New Problem... I called my Dr. for an appointment and they dont have anything till Nov 29th!
I asked the receptionist to ask the Dr. to make me the last appointment. She will ask and give me a call bak! Keeping my fingers crossed. Honestly I thought that you go on this background check website and pay the fees and they call you to make an appointment and do all the work for you. But NO!! You have to do all the leg work yourself and upload it to the site. Soo stressed out now. I just need to get my Dr. to do this quick before the deadline in literally two days. Cant wait to be done with this post decision and pre enrollment stuff so I can relax a bit before my accelerated classes start in January!! I am so excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time.

Hello mbransti!
Everywhere in chicago could really be a hit or miss. I'd say lincoln park/square area is a nice location could be pricey though, logan square is also becoming a nice area too depending on which part you choose. I live northwest area by portage park and so far haven't had any problems. Anyways hope that helps, ill let you know if i think of any other places.
