Hello now that the Sept 1st deadline has passed and those who applied are all anxiously waiting to hear from Resurrection, I feel it's appropriate to start a thread for those who are trying to start this January. It would be great to hear from all those who are applying for spring 2014 or even those who have applied before.
To be honest with you I read some other threads about previous applicants and it seems like some people that turn in everything really early get accepted even before the official deadline. When I went to the school to turn everything in they told me that they start deciding who they accept about one month after the deadline (Oct 1st). So if anyone got accepted already please let us know.
Also 2 thing that I just found out about Resurrection that you might not have known:
-they no longer do guaranteed admissions (I believe this is a fairly recent change)
-if you apply for Spring and don't get in, you can't apply for Fall, you must wait 1 full year in between applications
-This is what I was told by the Resu staff but you might want to verify this information if it changes things for you
Anyways it would be great if I could hear where other applicants stand. To start I applied with a 3.4 gpa, I believe I had a 3.0 science gpa and an 83 on the TEAS. I think my essay was alright. But like I said since they are not doing guaranteed admission, I am still worried. Also if it matters I barely made the sept 1st deadline by a day or so.
Looking forward to hearing from everyone
Hi all,
Finished and submitted all my required docs to Resurrection in Aug, about 3 days before the deadline, and just heard from them yesterday (Oct 11) via email that I was accepted for Spring 2014. Very excited! Sending in my Enrollment Form on Monday and getting the ball rolling as far as CPR certification, background check, drug test, immunizations, etc. We will not be contacted to set up an orientation date until they receive that Enrollment Form and deposit. As for uniforms, am iffy about sizes so I'll be heading to the designated shops to try them on before ordering. As for shoes, does anyone have any recommendations on white, leather, shoes that fit their requirements but don't look so clunky or unstylish? I was looking at the leather Keds slip ons and am hoping those will do. Any advice on that would be greatly appreciated!
Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back, and to those who have already heard from Resurrection - Congratulations!
Oh happy day!!
I finally got the call a few minutes ago and I got accepted!!!!
It took awhile but better late than never.
Still waiting for the required documents to pop up in my student portal.
He said that I actually did really well but there was a high volume of applications to go through.
So for all of those who didn't get the call yet, be patient because they might take a while.
Congratulations to all of those who got accepted. I'll be seeing you this January.
Hi there!
Congrats!!!
I just started doing my requirements for Resurrection and hopefully in 2 years I will be done and will apply.
Can you tell me if you started applying when you were done with requirements? or you can do it earlier? and also please let me know which book is the most helpful for TEAS exam and is it very hard? I want to start preparing myself for it as soon as I can.
Thank you!!
Hey kathy it's good that you are trying to prepare in advance. That's the attitude you want to have.
As far as the prerequisite policy goes: You can apply if you still have to do some classes but you MUST have EVERYTHING done before the actual program starts. Personally I had all the classes done before, but I also spent almost 3 years at the City College (repeating classes).
So for example I could have still taken classes this (Fall 2013) semester and applied to get into January Spring 2014. But if I was missing even ONE class by January, they would not accept me. Also if you still need to take classes the semester before the program starts (during the application deadline), you're going to want to talk to a Resu counselor so that they know that you will be finished by the time the program starts. At least this is the way I understood it by what they told me.
Just get the official ATI TEAS V book. I believe you can find it on Resu's website. The TEAS test is pretty much just a general overview of the 2 years of prerequisites that you will be taking. So as long as you do well in your science classes and read the ATI TEAS book you should do fine.
One final tip that I wish that someone had told me my first year. I will assume that you will be taking the prereqs at the City College or some other community college. I STRONGLY suggests that you take the gen ed classes (english 1+2,sociology,statistics, music etc) online because it will save you a ton of class hours and you can concentrate more on your harder science classes (you can't take any of the sciences online). You will receive the same credit as if you would have went to the physical class (check with your school and Resu's tranfer guide). I think at the city college every one of Resu's prereqs is available as a online class except the sciences and psychology classes. Again check with your school.
Good luck and Godspeed.
I submitted my application when I was still taking the stats course. The only other required course I was missing is the intro to computers class which I'm going to try and test out of. So if you have some required courses that you haven't taken yet that's fine, you just need to have everything finished by the time classes start.
As for the TEAS test I used McGraw Hills 5 TEAS Practice Tests book (ISBN 0071767770) and ATI TEAS Review Manual Vers. 5. 0 (ISBN 1933107987). I found that the extra practice tests were really helpful and the review sections in the ATI were nice as well. I don't know about everyone else but my weakest portion was the English and Language Usage part. I think part of it was that it's the last section so my brain was a bit fried after staring at the screen for so long, but I also realized how much I'm lacking in the grammar area. So my one piece of advise would be to go over that section because how we commonly use English isn't always the correct way.
Hi all,
Congrats to those who recently got accepted for Spring 2014! Excited to meet you all in January. Was just at the uniform place today to get ideas on sizes. Got a few tips you may or may not have already read about on other threads: POLO SHIRTS - comfy, roomy, and fit a little big so you can size down depending on how you like your fit. I usually need a little more on top, but was still able to fit an XS with a t-shirt underneath for layering. PANTS - again, a little big so you can size down, they are thin so definitely nude underwear is a must! Also, lengthwise, they are tapered so they aren't going to be to the ground or covering much of the shoe like we may be accustomed to with our jeans, etc... I am 5'2" and was able to go with the XS Petite. LAB COATS - fairly true to size from what you would wear in a trench coat (for example). Even with my measurements the size 4 (smallest size available) was comfy and roomy. They're nice with lots of pockets inside and out, and even pockets inside the outer pockets! If you still have questions about sizing, I highly recommend going to the uniform shops and trying stuff on.
As for SHOES, anyone in or near the Andersonville area who is looking at the Dansko brand is in luck! This weekend (Oct 18-20). Alamo Shoes is having a Dansko trunk sale with $15 off your purchase. They will size you up right and even order and deliver if they don't have your size in the shop.
Hope that bit of info helps cross stuff off the to-do list before Nov 15! Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear back from ResU!
I'm moving from North Dakota and have very little knowledge on safe neighborhoods and what not. Does anyone have any advice for me as to neighborhoods and how to go about finding places? Craigslist has so far been about 50/50 on sketchiness and usefulness...Anything would be appreciated, thanks!
HI everyone! so has anyone completed the background check, immunizations, and drug screening yet? I need to know how long and easy or hard was the process? I haven't set up my info yet but I will be doing that today, can I go to my primary for immunizations or does RESU pick all these locations meaning for drug screening and immunizations?

I have not received information about orientation maybe we'll get that information once we have turned in enrollment form, because John said they don't count us as official until they receive that form and deposit
