Resurrection University Fall 2012 Applicants

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi all,

I am new here and have found the forum to be very informational. I decided to start a thread for Resurrection's fall 2012 applicants. I think it would be good to keep in touch throughout the process, so if you have any questions or comments feel free to express them here. I already submitted my application, transcripts and essay, all I need is to take the TEA's test. I'm taking it in February and am really nervous because I haven't even started studying. Has anyone taken it yet? How was it?

I am also applying to 2 other programs:

Loyola's ABSN program

Truman's Associates in Nursing program

I am debating on applying to UIC's GEP program, DePaul's MENP program and Rush's GEM program.

If anyone else is applying to these, please let me know! Thanks & good luck to all.

Well my cumulative GPA is garbage. It's higher than their minimum but still garbage. But I have a science 4.0 and got a 90 on the TEAS. I'm hoping two out of three are all it takes.

They include your science classes in your cumulative GPA, so I am sure that raised it! Don't worry, you'll be fine, you did great in the science classes and TEAS!

On another note, has anyone heard about Resurrection's loan forgiveness program? There is some info on their website but not much. I am thinking of calling them to ask about it, but if anyone has any info on it, please let me know.

The way I understood the program is you have to apply to loan forgiveness and be selected. If selected, then for every semester paid for (or reimbursed, not sure how that part works), you must work a year full time at a Res facility. Three semesters paid would equal three years of work. You would still get a normal salary and benefits. This is what I culled from their info. Sounds amazing, because they'd have to hire you to be able to fulfill this agreement, which means a job right after school :-)

It does sound amazing but I wonder how competitive it is and when we would actually know if we got selected? This would really play a huge factor on whether I attend Res or another school, ha. I mean it's a win/win situation, you get a full tuition scholarship AND job after you graduate.

Well you can discuss that, scholarships and other financial aid with their financial aid lady. And what if you don't get it the first semester, but say, had the final two semesters paid for? Two out of four ain't bad, but there's no way to predict the future.

I tried calling her but she is out of the office until the 16th, great.

But you're right though, some thing is better than nothing.

I think your fine. my gpa is a 3.0 which isnt that great and my science is a 3.2 so I think you have a good chance especially with your teas score:)

Is Res your first choice? It's my preferred. I didn't bother with other schools because I am really into Res for myriad reasons.

Yes it is but Im applying to chamberlain college of nursing which is my second choice.

Got a voicemail from Juan today but it was after office hours. I about lost my mind and I thought his voicemail sounded awkward. I was thinking the worst but then it occurred to me to check the online portal. Guess whose status says application ACCEPTED! This unicorn! I am so thankful and so happy!

Congrats!!!! :) That's great news!
