Nope. The agency won't let you do it anyway. You need to help her understand "conflict of interest". Try to get her to tell you why she doesn't want anyone else helping her. I went through this recently with my dad (a physician). I told him I could not legally care for him, and in his case, he knew it. What I did do was review his care and therapy as well as monitor his labs and meds. He felt better because I was "watching" over him and it made me feel better too (I was "watching" him)!

I, as a clinical supervisor, would not assign a nurse to care for her own mother or in the case of my agency her child. It's not professional.

Not professional, IMO, BUT I do know of a case nearby where Grandma, RN cares for Granddaughter with trach/vent and Gtube, Medicaid coverage. I don't know if the state "allows" it, or they don't realize the connection because the names aren't the same...
