:down:Want to share my experience with this company and save anyone else a miserable experience. I have never in twenty years had such an awful encounter. They have a total lack of respect for nurses and why anyone would work for them is truly a puzzlement.

They will not answer questions concerning benefits or rate of pay until the interview after you have filled out all the paperwork and taken the tests.

The answer to the benefit question is "NO". Why on earth they answer that question with "That will be discussed at the time of your interview"?

They do not pay for time orienting, no travel pay, expect you to first go meet the family with no pay for that time and then they want you to orient on your time! They tried to get me to go out on a Friday night from eight to midnight to orient on a simple case that they wanted me familar with in case of an emergency need for me to cover! And they were not paying for those four hours. Are you kidding?

I have many years experience in peds home care and after years of NICU, PICU and Pediatric hospital experience they do not have a case that requires FOUR hours of orientation for me or any other experienced RN.

This was before they coughed up the information that they paid way low and that they do not offer benefits.

I sat in that office and was told about their benefit package including price, company, and that benefits start at the beginning of employment and a range of pay---------

When I accepted a case that equaled thirty-six hours, I called to check pay rate and if that entitled me to benefits. Then I was told that they do not offer benefits!!! And the rate of pay was not acceptable.

I would not work for this company for twice the rate and a car thrown in. There is something very wrong with them.

My current employer does not pay for orientation and meeting the family. When I said something to them about this, the staffing coordinator had the audacity to tell me that this is a "job interview". I replied that I interviewed the day they hired me.

Wow.

I know one is not paid for the initial meet with family unless, of course, you go to cover someone else and meet the family this way which is the usual way it starts for me and if I have to go meet the family it is a quick meet.

My employer pays for orientation as they should however, it is at a reduced rate. I never spend more then ten to fifteen minutes with the orientation part.

I am so sorry the company you are with does not pay for orientation. Have you look into other companies?

This is why we need unions. We do not stick together and fix such problems.

This is the first company that does not pay for orientation. It is not the first that does not pay overtime or screw us on holiday pay or other benefits. I am looking, but that doesn't mean there are lots of employers out there to choose from.

I was hoping to find a place to share information regarding these agencies and save each other much precious time and energy that is wasted by the games that these agencies play to get nurses into there pool of employees, sometimes by flat out lying.

Some will claim to have many positions, but first you got to go through all the paper work, drive back and forth three times to the office, spend two full days of testing, inservice, etc. and then you find out that they are just trying to up there numbers so they have a better chance of getting more clients---------this has just got to be against some law or should be. We do not get paid a penny for those days------are you kidding me?

Terrible company. The staffers are completely unreliable. They will attempt to underpay you and are rude. Don't work for this company:spbox:

I am bummed to hear this as we use this company to staff our nursing. We have had so much trouble finding a nurse who will work on weekends. I am sad to hear they don't treat employees well, maybe this explains why! Does anyone have a nursing company they recommend for home nursing. I feel like they don't advertise for our case as we have lots of hours available and are flexible and a fun family to work with... and we have so many hours unstaffed!

Do tell. . . . Who is your family and what kind of RN positions do you have open? Ridersofrohan8 is my gmail

When I left my previously reply I was actually talking about Dependable Staffing. They are horrible.

Can Dependable Nursing require, that I sign a contract to work with them for a year? They have not provided me with any shifts closed to my home. I took a job, for more money, only 2 miles for my house.

If this is not telling, that the laity has found entry to the portal to the nursing professions' inner sanctum? Not only are kudos in order to whomever runs this site- but also, this transparency can only bode well for the future of the nursing profession, as more normal people/patients find out out what being a nurse is really all about. Are we saying that the nursing profession is coming of age...!? Wow.
