  1. What was your TEAS score for KCC?

9 members have participated

Hi All,

I am curious as to what a competitive applicant has for an ATI TEAS score, GPA, prereqs. I understand the minimum TEAS was 78, but it has been temporarily lowered to 65.

Obviously, the higher the scores the better, but what does an average accepted applicant's scores look like?

What is a solid TEAS score for acceptance, do I have to score in the 90s or are scores in 70s adequate?

Do most selectees earn A's on their Zoology and MICR, or are B's competitive? Essentially, I am wondering if I should fork out additional money to retake the zoology classes to raise the B's to A's or is that an unwise use of tight funds?

Any guidance is appreciated.

I hope they open the LCC satellite as well. I asked a question on another post about the amount that was accepted last year, and someone said about 30 got in because of the extra LCC satellite.

YESSS! The wait is so much worse now that it's October.

Wait 30 including lcc cohort? So when they open up lcc they accept more or less students in? Lol I'm confused.

You live in leeward area too?

But anyways, just incase anyone is curious or wants to start doing the Heath requirements. If you go to the kcc nursing program site. And look on the right it will have a link called health requirements and it has everything that needs to be done prior to registering for classes. Also first aid is only needed for nurses aide program. So ADN only needs CPR for healthcare with aed. :-) I think to take my mind off things I might start doing some of them. Hopefully I don't jinx myself and do all for nothing cuz I didn't get in. I will cry! Hhahaha

Ooops I think I phrased that wrong. LCC satellite was opened last semester, which might or might not have been because they accepted about 30 students. Half to KCC and the other to LCC satellite? Maybe? Maybe not?

It'll come next week...hope and pray.

Yup I live in the leeward area. If I get accepted, I'm not looking forward to driving to KCC in morning traffic. BUT not worried about that just yet...I'm more worried about the acceptance/rejection letter. I called the nursing program to find out about the earliest date the letters would be sent out and all I got was a maybe in October but definitely in early November. haha.

Patience is a virtue...woooosaaaah

I hope it does come next week or maybe the week after. Based on what I've seen at Allnurses it seems like those who applied for spring in prior cohorts got their letter mid oct. One lady at the nursing dept told me the dept checks it three times before it goes to someone to get signed and then it is mailed out.The admissions office just sent out all the applications 2 weeks ago to them. So yes, let's hope and pray!

Hey Ellers, you mentioned something about accreditation and how it might cause a delay in the application selection process. Was that resolved in any way? Any news about them gaining a renewal on the accreditation?

Nope, nothing. I stopped calling after that. I was working myself up and made the days go by slower lol. But hey almost there! I have been stalking my mailbox. Hopefully this week. I know they said it has to be sent out before registration begins and registration for spring begins November 4. So it has to be sent by ending of Oct. I was told that you need to fulfill all health requirements before you can register, that made me so happy because my suffering will end soon. Hopefully on a good note. =)

The silence on these boards is deafening.

Has anyone checked to see if they will be mailing it out this week? I'm so tempted to call. :cheeky:

I gave in and called buahahaha. Glad I did. She said its ready to be mailed today. :-) and letters will continue to mail out until next week. Do you guys know if they mail out acceptance first and alt list and the. Rejections last ? Because if I don't get anything this week I will start to think that I didn't get it. She did also say that they are done picking out applicants. Whoo! Really nervous now.

It must be my voice, I called last week and was told mid November. I have no idea the pattern in which they send the notices, but I going back through previous posts people were trying to breakdown the outcomes to the colors of the envelopes.

Now we grade the efficiency of the US Postal Service.

Today is Columbus Day. I am not sure if they are open today.

Lol I would call again and see if they give you the same info as me. But then again based on the past post on these boards it seems like it was all mailed out around this time. 3rd week of Oct. The wait is getting to me. I can't concentrate on my other classes because I'm too preoccupied. :-(
