VA Hiring Process

From the previous posts I've read the VA hiring process is pretty long and drawn out. I've applied to two different VA sites. The VA an hour away from my home I can always get in contact with a nurse recruiter and my application status for two posting says "referred to selecting official." The VA closest to my home, I can't get through to the recruiter, she emailed me back once and the status of all the apps just says "application received." I do know a nurse practitioner that works at this VA site and she tried to give my resume to the recruiter, but I had to apply online.

For those of you that are familiar with the hiring process, any idea what the next step is. In all there are around 20 RN vacancies. The two systems have two completely different online application submissions, how will I know if I've completed the application process correctly, its a little confusing :(

I've been applying since I've graduated and earlier this year I found out that I was applying the wrong way so those positions don't count. These positions closed in September.

Thanks in advance ?

DermRn how did this work for u? Cause my situation is similar. Got the interview but on my resume n original app I didn't mention the two jobs that I quit rather quickly on my resume or app. But I do plan to put it in vetpro. What was your results dealing with this?

I want to thank everyone for their help and advice on here.

I got boarded today and received my official offer...RNII Step 6!

I start 3/22.

Congratulations!!!! SnakeEyes, BSN. I am so happy for you. I pray I receive that call for my start date soon also.

Congrats! Eventually even the slowest process comes to an end. And in your case, a favorable one :)

We'll I am now up to do my fingerprints and physical. No word on vet pro yet. But should I just put in all on vetpro or discuss it before vetpro. Really want the job but want to be honest as we'll. was ever trying to be deceptive anyway. Just wondering. I need to get to working this process seems like it's gonna be a long one

My experience was from job closing date to start date: 7 weeks.

We'll hr lady called and I told her that all my jobs I've had I didn't input on my app and resume just the ones I had the longest. She said that's fine bring a updated resume and put in all in vetpro. She said it would prob b a additional 4 weeks to I start working. I interviewed two weeks ago so 6-7 weeks sound about right

Finally, I got my final offer today!! but I will have repeat my fingerprint before I get my start date. It was a hectic 6 months journey and happy it is finally over. As a new grad, I was boarded as Nurse 1, level II, step III and the pay is good too. Thank you all for the advice, help and encouragements.

I was hired on at the VA and start March 23. I didn't list a couple of my agency jobs that I have done within the last couple of Years cause they where jus days here and there. It was 2 different agencies (jobs) that I know of. And I got hired on with no problem.

U didn't put them all in vetpro either?

Nope, I didn't even mention them anywhere. One agency job was a whole week as an occupational nurse in a factory and the other was a different agency in a hospital on a brand new floor. And I left them on good standing, but no I didn't mentioned them anywhere. But maybe I was lucky, who knows

Okay cause my first job out if school I quit after a month and also another one. I was trying to find what I wanted to do and I know now it ain't ltc. The second one I left was after the first day of class orientation. They wasn't paying nothing and another job called me which I am still there until the 17th ( been there for over a year)cause I put in my two weeks.it too was ltc. But I stayed there to stop hopping around. But the va clinical job is what I've been praying for. So I don't think there is cause to put that one in.(1 day class orientation)
