Hi everyone ive been trying to join the navy or army reserve nurse corp as an officer and have no luck yet since my bsn is from a foreign country. Im licensed at illinois and have a 15 months experience as rn 6 of those is in the ER where i currently work. Im doing my masters right now Nurse practitioner to be able to join in the futre and im just wondering if my np in progress could help my application. Should i still push to join now or join after i finish np? Will i be able to convert to np status if i get in as an rn when i graduate my np or will i stay rn even though i finish np if for some reasons i get in now as an rn?

Any recruiters online are much appreciated

You cannot commission without a degree from a US nursing school — CCNE or ACEN accreditation is required for the education to be accepted, and those bodies only deal with US schools. Good luck in the remainder of your program! :)

You might become eligible once you have an MSN or a DNP from a US Nursing School. Certainly you can't apply at all until you've graduated.

Are you a US citizen? If not you need to be working on becoming one.

I am just the bsn from foreign has been my problem

That's good since you can not get a commission without being a US citizen.
