I'm commissioning in the next couple of weeks! hooray! I will likely be going to ODS in November. Anyone else going?

Also, if anyone has gone to ODS recently, can you post about your experience? Any helpful hints would be great!

Congrats on your commission, Do you know the ODS schedule for the remainder of this year?

Thanks! I wish I knew the dates for ODS. I asked my recruiter about it - he'll get back to me on it.

Congratulations!!! :yeah:

How long did it take from the time your packet was submitted until you went to ODS? Thanks I'm curious of the dates too. Hopefully I can have my packet in for the november board :banghead: as soon as they tell me I can go I'm gone!!

November's class starts on the 16th. I don't know any other dates. I assume after the first of the year.

As for my application, I went through MEPS at the end of May, and had my packet submitted late June. Found out in August that I was selected. Had medical consults the first part of September, and finally got the green light the first part of October. My process took so long due to the waiver process.

So you were able to be selected for commissioning even though you needed waivers? You didn't have to have the waivers before you were selected? You get selected and then if you need a waiver you do it then?

Sorry, I'm just getting started and I know that I'll need a waiver for my hearing. I'm curious if I can be selected for commission before I get the waiver, or if I have to have the waiver before my packet can be sent to the review board.

Right after I submitted my packet, I was told I needed a couple of waivers but that my application would still move on to the nursing board. So when I was told I was selected it was more like "you're selected, pending medical clearance". Needing waivers will not stop your application process completely.
