:balloons:Well finally everything is done, I will be taking the oath and getting commissioned in the AF this Thursday. :balloons: I am very excited, this has been a long process for me which I started in December. I will be going to COT in August. My father is retired army enlisted but since he is a notary public he will be able to administer the oath to me which I am also very excited about. I know it's something that is important to him and I'm glad he can be a part of.

congrats. i am scheduled to take my oath on the 2nd of august. i think that is so cool that you can have a family member do this for you. i would love to have someone i know but i do not have anyone special to ask. are you planning to have anything special, or sort of have a sequence of events happen for you ceremony? my recruiter keeps saying we need to brain storm and make it special but i don't know what to do. the oath only takes a few minutes, then what???

ya my recruiter told me I can do it however I want. I have no idea, probably just something small with my immediate family and fiance there. Thats all I can think of really. I was reading somewhere that what is done sometimes is that the first enlisted person to salute you which is usually done right there is supposed to get a silver dollar from you or something like that. Sorry about being vague but I can't remember the article I was reading.

Congratulations! If your father was enlisted and can fit into his uniform, have him be the first to salute you!
