Are civilian NPs hired onto military bases to provide healthcare services? If so, what is this process like and how is it done?

What if I am specialized in peds or women's health? Are there less jobs for NPs who are specialized rather than family NP? I don't want to be deployed but would be interested in working with young/older military families.

PS: Does anyone know if Camp Pendleton hires non-military clinicians?

Yes civilian NP's are employeed at military facilities. It varies from facilitily to facility & service to service on what they are looking for in a NP. To find a position you need to look at USAJOBS for listing for most federal jobs. The process to get hired is longer then it takes to be hired into most civilian positions

Someone in my family works on a military based (social work). They are retired military but got the job after retiring and is a civilian now obviously. Really likes it.
