Register Today!- Feb 1 by HooahNurse0221Quote from DaniRN421The rooms look like hotel rooms and there is both wi fi and direct connect in all rooms.Has your wife mentioned anything about what the deal is with internet at BOLC? Pretty much do you know if it is supplied in all the rooms, or if we have to bring our own wireless cards?
Thanks!!! - Feb 1 by HooahNurse0221Quote from DaniRN421On your report day you will not do much. As mentioned before show up in PTs because you will be sent to change into them. The ASU inspections come pretty quickly so make sure that you have them ready. You will be assigned a room at housing then fill out some paperwork and conduct a roll call where you will find out what platoon you are in.Since BOLC is less than a month away, my husband and I are trying to make travel plans. I think we are going to drive out to Texas, and than my husband is going to take a plane home. Does anyone know what we do on the first day (the report date)? Would I have enough free time, to check-in, and than drop my husband off at the airport on the 28th, or should we get his flight for the 27th?
- Feb 1 by nursespouseQuote from HooahNurse0221Thanks bro, so the report uniform is definitely PT's. Just short and t shirt? And the ASU inspection is on what do. I am sure they give them enough time to get to a tailor though right? On your report day you will not do much. As mentioned before show up in PTs because you will be sent to change into them. - Feb 1 by nursespouseThey missed 6 months worth of Constructive Credit for my wife. Her CMSRN certification was lost in the sauce somewhere. Was able to get it scanned and sent to LTC W. Hopefully they can adjust this before everything is done. Would suck to lose that much time.

The rooms at 592 (main lodging) are a little nicer than those at 1384. I was at 1384. You'll have a roommate, share a pretty small bathroom, and you each have a wall locker, a short cabinet thing with two drawers, and a desk. There is a little kitchenette with a microwave, small fridge, and a sink. I became the master of microwave meals for the times that we didn't go to the DFAC. I bought pre-cooked grilled chicken breast, cheese, and wraps. Mmmmm, good! You can also make a breakfast burrito the same way with egg beaters -- yes, you can microwave those as well.
The beds in 1384 are small -- they're tall twin beds with plenty of space underneath for storage. It wasn't bad, overall. But the last night we were there, I woke up to my roommate shaking me awake and telling me to get out of the bed to the right, slowly ... because there was a ginormous cockroach on the covers on the left side. AAAAAHHHHHHHH!! So glad that sucker didn't show up until the last night!
Good times.

- Feb 2 by Chasenu68I too will be going to Fort Sill. I have a friend that lived there and he really liked it, so I am going with an open mind. I am a less than 2 years experience nurse. I missed going to a MEDCEN because I will have 8 months experience as a nurse when I go to BOLC on 14 March. I am a prior service combat medic with 1-22 infantry. I definitely don't mind helping some of you get squared away once we are at BOLC. I think BOLC will be fun.
- Feb 2 by nursespouseQuote from Chasenu68Awesome, My wife will be heading to Sill June 6. She tends to be very quiet, but maybe BOLC will kick that out of her. The time I stayed at Lawton in 2001 was awful. Of course it was for my basic and AIT, but even on the weekends we had off in AIT, there was really nothing that I ever found to do. I guess with children of my own now the trails and hiking will be fun though. Good luck throughout BOLC.I too will be going to Fort Sill. That same person you referenced was the one who told me that I should have gotten 6 mos credit for the CEN ... not sure he's right about that. But whatever. As long as I got the ISP (and he WAS right about that), then I'm happy. I almost took the accession bonus of $30K, which would have made me ineligible for the ISP. Big difference. As that person told me, "$80K is much bigger than $30K." Yes indeed! - Feb 2 by nursespouseQuote from LunahRNI do not think they offer either now. My wife was able to get the precision course and the loan repayment. Was told allother bonueses were gone unless you have the 8a or ER identifierFor a second I thought you were talking about the cockroach. I was like, dude! It's Texas. LOL
