Anybody here applying for MECP for FY08?

I'm completely stressing about my application for MECP (for those that don't know, it is for schooling and then a commission in the Navy Nurse Corp)....I was just wondering if anybody else here is applying for the program.

I've been working on my package for about a year now, and it's still not done. I have to have it postmarked by 1 Oct....waiting on an acceptance letter to a university (I have my fingers crossed), and getting my interviews done.

This would be a complete career change for me, seeing as how I am an electrician and have been for the last 13 years.

Bananers, I too am going to try to apply for this year. I have been working on my package for the last few weeks and an hoping to have it completed in the next few months.

I have already gotten my acceptance letters for 2 colleges and am looking to get one from a 3rd (and probably the one that I will attend). After that I will be working with the college to get my degree completion plan done.

I have been in the Navy for 10 years (12 years military) and been an AT for the whole time. I am ready for a change and ready to move into the medical field. My biggest worries right now is loosing weight and getting all of the interviews that I need.

I am also applying for MECP, and I tell you I am pretty nervous. The things that have been most nerve racking are the things that are out of my control. The officers who sat my interview were lets just say a bit slow in getting them to me (I just got them today). My CO was adamant that he would not even look at my CO's endorsement until I have a completed package in his hands. Here I am 9 days until the deadline, and due to delays with interview appraisals, academic degree paths and stubborn CO's I feel totally helpless! I have been calling all parties concerned, trying to light the fire, and I even involved my chain of command, but I just can't speed things up. Lets just say I am frustrated to say the least. I have worked very hard to complete my part of the package, I hope that they come through! As far as getting selected, I am fully prepared to be denied, however I do feel I have a strong package. I have good evals, excellent grades and volunteer time. I am not a corpsman, but I did complete their online A-school. I have never wanted anything more than this, I just hope the selection board sees that and what I could give to the Nurse Corps. I suppose now all I could do now is wait.
