Do I have too much on my plate?
I'll say you probably are not over doing it. I work between 60-100 hours per week when my ship isn't underway, have two kids and a hubby and have taken 15 hours. I usually take only two classes. When my ship is underway, I work about 18 hour days....

Help with A&P II question (Studying for midterm exam)
I would like to say thanks to both of you. I did some research for the suggested topics and was able to figure out how I would answer this question should it come up on my midterm today. I'm actually a little more relieved now, knowing that I have researched all 30 of the proposed essay questions. :)

Help with A&P II question (Studying for midterm exam)
Help! I am studying for my midterm exam for A&P II, and can't seem to come up with a starting point for answering this question. A 60 year-old is unable to walk more than 100 yards without experiencing severe pain in this left leg; the pain is relieved by resting 5-10 minutes. He is told that the arteries of his legs are becoming occluded with fatty material and is advised to have the sympathetic nerves serving that part of the body severed. Explain how such a surgery might help relieve this man's pain. Why would this fatty material deposition in the arteries cause pain? Any helpful beginning would be greatly appreciated. (Cross posted.)

What Are Planning to Take Winter Semester?
Over the course of the next few months (Jan - July) I'll be taking Intro to Chem for Allied Health, Microbiology, Intro to Sociology. I'm currently enrolled in A&P II, General Chem II, English 102. I know it may seem weird that I'm taking General Chem II now and that I am taking the Intro to Chem class next....I'm retaking Chem II to fix a grade from 14 years ago. And, I want to take the intro class so I have a better background when I take Organic Chemistry.... :) Hope that doesn't seem too strange.

Nutrition Fall 2007
Oh my goodness. I hate group projects online. We had them for Lifespan. Each person was required to post his/her response to the essay question with references and then the person that was group leader for the week had to compile all of the responses into one paper. Fortunately for me, during my week only one other person besides myself actually did their homework, so my paper was easy.

Anyone know of a Stats class that is completely online?
I took stats (the math course version, not the psych course version) from Rio Salado College. It was tough (I'm not good at math). I got a "C", so not terrible for the math challenged. It was an ok class. You have to watch videos and be very careful that you round your numbers exactly the way that they were keyed into the tests.

Air Force or Navy??
I'm in the Navy...(not a Nurse)....and while we have it better than somebody deployed, we don't have all of the amenities of home. The areas where I work can get upwards to 130F depending on the season and location of the ship...also, on an aircraft carrier, our medical department has one nurse....

Anybody here applying for MECP for FY08?
I'm completely stressing about my application for MECP (for those that don't know, it is for schooling and then a commission in the Navy Nurse Corp)....I was just wondering if anybody else here is applying for the program. I've been working on my package for about a year now, and it's still not done. I have to have it postmarked by 1 Oct....waiting on an acceptance letter to a university (I have my fingers crossed), and getting my interviews done. This would be a complete career change for me, seeing as how I am an electrician and have been for the last 13 years.

annotated bibliography
Do your bibliography as you normally would (in whatever style MLA, APA, etc. that is required by your class). Then, write a short abstract about your source and why it is an acceptable/suitable source to cite for your paper.

A&P II Club, 2007
I start on 9/17 with A&P II. I can't wait. Hopefully it won't be as tough as I. :) I did get my first chapter read already though, now I just have to make a bunch of flashcards.

Chem Fall 2007
My General Chem II class starts this week. I took it about 13 years ago, but didn't feel like taking the final exam, so failed the class. Boy am I kicking myself now. At any rate though, I would have had to take my chem over anyhow because the schools I am applying to don't accept science greater than seven years old.... I'm scared and nervous.

what's your study strategy
Use the anatomy coloring book and make your own note cards/flash cards to study with.

Please say good things about Rio Salado
They're not fantastic, but they're not horrible either. It does seem pretty strange that they aren't able to process your TA paperwork in a timely manner. I haven't had problems in that respect yet. Do be sure about which sections you want to register with though. I registered for a mixed media class because the internet is tough when we are underway. My instructor recommended switching to online because she said it was easier. I contacted an advisor and was told the only way to do it was to pay full tuition for the new class. A bunch of BS if you ask me. Some of the instructors are good, some aren't. I just finished A&P I with a not so very good instructor, so hopefully you won't get him. I can tell you though that if you are unable to get your books right away, you should have no problem with utilizing online resources to complete the lab excercises and quizzes. If you need any help, let me know.

Anatomy & Physiology2 ONLINE Course
The labs (and I do use that term loosely) are done via software and/or internet sites.
