long-term care


hello im a cna working in long-term care and would like any advice on how to deal with death.

This is a very hard thing to deal with but I try to remember that people in a LTC setting have lived out their lives and probably wouldn't want to be laying around unable to care for themselves.
Also if they were sick with something like cancer, then they aren't suffering anymore. I think as nurses we have chance to make a difference for these residents in their last days, and if we treat them with respect and a caring attitude, then we should feel good about helping them thru the final hours of their life. Try to remember the good things about the person and not so much about their death and they will be with you all the time.
