new lpn grad, am I crazy for being determined to want a hospital job?

So I passed my boards about a month ago, new lpn grad here, and I have been searching for a job. Home health is out the way for me, being a new grad I dont think that would be such a good idea. Then there is LTC, and I dont mean to be horrible but I really dont wanna work ltc, I would dread going to work. Then theres doctor's offices, and clinics, and all of them want experienced nurses. I would really like to get a job in a hospital, med surg, but they just dont seem to be hiring new nurses. If anyone has any info, connections, or ways I could get into a med surg at a hospital, please pm, or write me, thanks in advance.

I am not sure where in GA you are, but Emory Healthcare and its facilities all around the Atlanta area are seeking magnet status which means more and more LPNs and even ADN's are being phased out to make room for the BSN nurses. I am not sure about the rest of the state is doing but as an Emory student those are what the little birdies have been telling us around here.

Try Grady. I have had a few lpn offers from some ED's in the metro Atl. but I've been a medic for 10years and they took that into consideration. As far as LTC goes I've found that they pay better than hospital positions. I've been offered anywhere from 16-20$ Hr. Good luck in your quest.

psychiatric hospitals hire lpns- such as charter peachford and laurelwood

Hope you are successful in finding your first job. Don't get discouraged.
