Kennesaw State BSN Fall 2012

U.S.A. Georgia

Hello,

is there anyone out there that has applied for KSU's BSN program for Fall 2012? I know it is really early and the deadline isn't until Jan. 31, 2012, but just wanted to see if anyone will be playing the waiting game with me this early. I actually applied for the Spring 2012, but got wait-listed. I hope I get in, but the reality is that everyone I've heard of that was in my same situation didn't get in. I'll just give KSU one more try.

do it make you nervous that even though you submitted the online application on the KSU nursing website, that you don't receive any sort of confirmation that 'for sure' it was received and you don't need to worry about it? It makes me so uneasy, lol

It makes me uneasy too. I feel like submitting ten of those apps just to make sure they have it lol. I might call just to ask if they have that and my TEAS score.

Taking the TEAS next week. Can anyone tell me what sort of score i should be aiming for? How long did everyone study for it? And as far as GPA---do they look both at the prereq GPA and overall GPA?

I have noticed that most of the GA programs prefer a score of 80 or above, but I have seen that the most competitive applicants have 85 or above, so I have seen from other threads and nursing admission statistics. I studied for exactly one month, using the ATI study guide, Youtube, and prereq material. I took the test in September. I believe they look at your overall GPA, looking to see how many A's you have. They also look for many A's in the sciences. So everything is considered, basically, I believe.

Oh good! I did fairly good so i am hoping it will be strong enough! When you call can you give me an idea what they say? I think that's a great idea about the TEAS score too....I just sent mine out today! I might just do what you mentioned and submit a few more times just to make sure, haha!! Good luck!

Hello everyone! I have been reading the posts on this site for a while now and decided to join. I am applying to the Kennesaw State nursing program for fall of 2012 as well. I am so nervous. I take my TEAS V on the 12th. In fact I am about to do my online assesment at ATI's website. Best of luck to us all!!

Hello! I am wondering does your teas score need to be submitted before the deadline?!?! and if so do you know how long it takes ATI to send scores?

-Can't wait to get into a program!!!!!!!!

When I spoke to ATI, they mentioned that it is sent electronically to the school, so it can be a matter of minutes. I believe all application materials are supposed to submitted by the deadline.

Thanks! I took mine at GBCON (mercer) so i wanted to know if it takes the same amount of time!

I was told that applications will not be checked until the deadline has passed. Also, if they haven't received your TEAS score by the deadline, they will send you an email letting you know before decisions are made in April. There is no confirmation email or letter to be received after you submit your application, so once you submit it and see that "Your application has been submitted"(something like that) on the webpage, you have applied to the nursing program. If you think you did not submit an application(or just don't remember), you can just send another one, just to be on the safe side.

Hi everyone! I am applying for the accelerated program as well! It sounds like it is going to be super tough to get in! I am getting really nervous. I am applying to Emory's second degree BSN program too since I already have a degree in early childhood education. How were y'alls TEAS scores and gpa's??? I just have no idea where I stand. Out of 900, only 40 were accepted to the accelerated program? That's insane! I have a 3.8 from my previous undergrad degree, a 4.0 in pre-reqs, and a 90.6 on the TEAS. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

I applied back in September but I was paranoid that my application didnt go through so I submitted another one...let the waiting game begin :-/

To those of you who have applied to the accelerated program....on your OWl Express page---do any of you still have highlighted in red that you need to complete the Regents Writing and Regents Reading requirements?

I heard that if you have a degree you are exempt from this...should I just let it be or should I call to get this corrected? Will this affect anything regarding admissions to the nursing program?

danceluver...i would at least call the registrar's office and ask about it. I don't think it will be a problem but i would check to be sure. you definitely don't want to have something so little affect anything with regards to admission into the program.
