How to get job in hospital

U.S.A. Georgia

Hi all

I should be a student at Lanier Tech's LPN program this summer and am trying to get a job in a hospital - preferably Northside as I would like to go OB after I get my RN bridge.

Ideally I would like to eventually get a tech position and then LPN. However in the meantime I find myself in need of a job and would like to get a clerical job even, patient access rep, unit secretary, housekeeping or kitchen if I have to. I have filled out online apps with no response. Can we just go by the hospitals to the HR dept and speak with someone. I know I can do the work I just want to speak to someone about my situation. I have a previous degree in microbiology, currently a 4.0 at LT and scored in the 99 percentile on the NLN. I just need somebody to give me a chance

;) Try going in person to the personnel office or HR. Showing up in person show you are wanting a position. Tons of people apply online and most never get hired this way.

Also be sure and turn in your resume when doing an application. Hope this helps.

I am in the same boat. I will be starting in an RN program in the fall, and have been tryting to get a part time tech or unit secretary job. I have filled out bunches of online applications, and have never gotten any response. This week I plan to start going in person to HR departments and taking my resume.

Just a heads up - I was in town from VA a few weeks ago and my friend and I decided to hit all the hospitals in the area. Most of the HR dept's told us to apply online which was disheartening after all of our driving around. You might want to call first and maybe see if you can set up an appt to talk to their recruiter.
