  1. Hi! I am currently in Georgia and had a question about this. I can;t seem to get anyone in the nursing program on the phone or to respond to email and have not had a chance to go by when I have been in Houston. But can you only take the exam during the application period? Also what study guide do you use to study? Does anyone have an ISBN/title? Thank you!
  2. Hi! I was recently diagnosed with this and the fasciitis is getting better with orthotics, anti inflammatories and exercise, but my foot is now numb on the outerside? Anyone experienced this issue as well? Will it go away? My thinking is that when my heel and arch hurt so bad, I walked on the edge of my foot because it was sore too for a while. But now it is numb. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  3. Sorry, I don't know the answer to this question but would like to know myself. I had not heard about the 500 hours requirement. You might try posting this on the Georgia board as I think there are some EC grads on there. Thanks for sharing this.
  4. I was looking around on the Excelsior site and tried to register for the NC1 but was not allowed to check the box when I got to the page to choose which exam I wanted. Did I do something wrong? Do I need to speak withsomeone at Excelsior before I can register for the exam? Thanks - I love the helpful info from this thread. Cass
  5. Hi all I should be a student at Lanier Tech's LPN program this summer and am trying to get a job in a hospital - preferably Northside as I would like to go OB after I get my RN bridge. Ideally I would like to eventually get a tech position and then LPN. However in the meantime I find myself in need of a job and would like to get a clerical job even, patient access rep, unit secretary, housekeeping or kitchen if I have to. I have filled out online apps with no response. Can we just go by the hospitals to the HR dept and speak with someone. I know I can do the work I just want to speak to someone about my situation. I have a previous degree in microbiology, currently a 4.0 at LT and scored in the 99 percentile on the NLN. I just need somebody to give me a chance Cass
  6. Hey MKK08 - I sent you a PM with some questions about your program! Cass
  7. Hi! I was wondering about where you got your PCT certification? I am currently in the program at Lanier Tech and wondered if the two are equivalent? Cass
  8. Where do you get PCT certification? I am thinking of taking Lanier Techs CNA course but how is this different from a tech? Where else can you get training for these? Cassandra
  9. I was wondering if the schools around here accepted online science classes for transfer...I probably wont take any online unless I just can't get one coordinated around my work schedule at any local colleges. I also thought about taking a few in oreder to raise my grades from what they were my first time around in school. Will the major schools accept online classes? Science ones in particular? Cass
  10. What is the math modeling class? Is that algebra? OR would algebra transfer for it? Just trying to figure out what all I can take before I Get there. Cass
  11. Great! Thanks for the advice. I am taking A and P I at Gwinett Tech this fall so maybe I will get in the first time around...Did you get your TEAS guide at like Barnes and Noble? Cass
  12. No I have not been accepted yet...I have not applied. I will apply for next fall. So the course of study outline on NGCSU website is pretty much if you have noe prereqs already done and shows you how to take them so that you get them all in 2 years with the nursing classes? I was wondering about grades...I have a 3.1 overall from another degree with my prereqs required for nursing being around 3.4. Should I try to retake some of my B classes to make some A's or is this good enough to get in? Thanks Cass
  13. I am confused...I thought NGCSU was a 2 year program all total? Is it 2 years including core and nursing classes or 3 counting nursing classes and core classes? I have most of the core classes except A&P done...will I go t oyears or 1 year if accepted? THanks Cassandra
  14. I was reading some of the discussions and was wondering if we had anyone here who actually graduated from GPC? What is so wrong with that program? I am trying to decide where to apply this spring and am ready to scratch GPC off my list but wanted to get some facts from those of you out there who had actually gotten through the program. Cass
  15. I was wondering those of you who are in this program...did you take all of your prereqs there? I looked over the plan of study for the ADN and as I have a bachelors in microbiology already, I have most of the prereqs. Has anyone been in this situation? Do they look at your overall college GPA pr just the GPA for the classes that you will transfer? Is there a time limit on transfer of classes as many of mine are almost 10 years ago now that I took them? Also if you don't mind saying, what was your GPA? Thanks anyone who can help...I hope to be ready to apply by the Feb deadline so I can get into Fall 2006. I have all A's and B's in my prereq classes Cass
