Hospitals in Atlanta that hires ADN RN

Hello everyone!

I recently got into a ADN program here in atlanta (bauder college) and i am interested in knowing which hospitals hire adn-rn nurses. I know of 2 so far and thats wellstar and northside. Are their anymore?

Also I'm starting the program in february and I am interested in getting my foot in the door at a hospital, should i start applying to maybe cna or pct positions once i begin the program so that i can put that i am in a nursing program now? (many hospitals state must be in a current program to apply although some dont)

Jobs are tight everywhere......once you pass your boards you are an RN. All new grad RN's are new grad RN's regardless of college degree. Admittedly there is a move towards BSN entry but it is not mandated as of yet. I will say that there is a plethora of nursing grads and even more entering the schools as we speak because of the mistake idea that nursing is a recession proof job...which it is not. Eventually you will need your BSN if you are young and intend this to be a long term career.

Due to the tight job market I would obtain a position at a facility ot get experience butit is also no guarentee for a job when graduated.

Thanks so much for your feedback. I have noticed a lot of nurses saying how bad the job market is, which is why I'm a firm believer in networking. I wouldn't mind leaving geoargisa either to increase my chances of getting a job. I do have my cna license that I haven't used yet. Maybe I can use that to apply as well?

I don't know of any hospitals in Georgia that are BSN hired only..not saying there aren't any but I've never heard of any..there are a few in Florida.

As far as a new graduate RN, St. Joseph's and Emory require a BSN for their nursing residency programs.

Piedmont and Grady don't require a BSN. I'm not sure about Atlanta Medical, but I believe they don't require a BSN either.

Regarding PCT positions, most places want you to at least have gone through your first round of clinicals.

Oops, I just saw that you have a CNA license. You probably won't have to wait until you've done clinicals if you have a CNA license.

Also, Children's doesn't require a BSN.
