Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2011

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello everyone!

I am applying to Gordon College's nursing program for the spring. I was accepted to the program for the fall semester but had to decline because I did not think that I could finish my A&P2 and micro classes this summer. My gpa dropped a little since I was accepted and I was wondering if any previously accepted students could help me determine my chances for getting in for the spring. I am taking A&P2 and microbiology this fall to satisfy the rest of my core. My gpa is a 3.26 and I got an 83.5 on my TEAS. Do you think that those scores will be good enough? When I got in for fall I had a 3.36 gpa and the same score on my TEAS, so theyre not that much different. This is the only program that I am applying for so I'm just hoping that I get in. If anyone can help me figure out my chances, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks :)

You do NOT NOT NOT want ... for ANYTHING. Trust me. He will be lucky if he is still teaching there in a year. Stay with .. and .. for AP if you can. Some people say .. is horribly hard, but if you put in time and effort to study and do the extra credit he offers you can totally make an A in his class.

Thanks for the info on .... MK126995.....If anybody has gotten into the Nursing Program at Gordon without having all their core classes done when they applied I would love to know about it. I'm just trying to see how good my chances are of getting in when I still have 3 core classes left to take?

WHEN THEY MAKE THEIR DECISION, IT'S BASED ON WHETHER U WILL HAVE THE CORE CLASSES COMPLETED BY THE TIME U ENTER THE PROGRAM. SO....IF SPRING IS YOU TARGET, I DON'T C WHY THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT U. I'M POSITIVE THEY WILL. DON'T OVERLOAD YOURSELF THIS SUMMER BECAUSE U STILL HAVE THIS UPCOMING FALL TO COMPLETE THE REMAINING CLASSES. JUST BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR APPLICATION SUBMITTED BY THE DUE DATE FOR THE SPRING '12 DEADLINE. FYI...A MAJORITY OF THE TEST QUESTIONS ARE CRITICAL THINKING. YES....IT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW THE INFORMATION; HOWEVER, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO APPLY THAT INFO. PER SITUATION. KNOW SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF EVERYTHING IMAGINABLE. AGAIN, DON'T FREAK OUT BECAUSE U STILL HAVE THE REMAINING YEAR TO COMPLETE YOUR CLASSES. WHEN MAKING THEIR SELECTION THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SEE THE CLASSES YOU'VE COMPLETED THIS SUMMER & CLASSES THAT YOU ARE ENROLLED IN FOR THE FALL. BESIDES, WHEN I WAS ACCEPTED, I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF COMPLETING THE REMAINING CLASSES. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

What are you talking about? I'm well aware you don't have to have them finished when you apply. There are even cases when people in the first session of the nursing program don't have them finished...

Thanks for all the replies everyone, Dennur that really helps alot,I was just wondering if anybody had gotten in when they weren't done with all their classes. Apparently you did, so that's a great thing to know. The advisor in Nursing Dept was a bit discouraging and acting as though I didn't have much of a chance, she is the same one who said those with 3.5 GPA's were being turned away because the program is so competitive. I guess I will continue on with my plans for summer then, thanks!

sowhat105...........I mistakingly address my message to the wrong individual. So you're WHAT ARE YOU TAKING ABOUT I find a bit rude and unnecessary. If your in the first semester of NS, perhaps I see you on the daily!!!!!!!!!

svdomenech27.......don't listen to that 3.5 turn down crap. In the 2011 newbie class there were manyyyyyyyyyy individuals with GPA's in the two somethings. How do I know????? Well, amongst one another in conversation the what's your GPA came up often in the beginning of the first semester. Keep on striving and maintaining a high GPA to ensure that you stand out from the rest. That's what I did. You'll be fine!!!!!
