Anyone applying to NGCSU Fall 2012?

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hi, I'm new to this site, and I just wanted to see who has all applied to North Georgia College and State University. Anyone with experiences, or others who have applied please reply with your stats...It would be greatly appreciated!

I'm just trying to get a general idea of what my stats should be like or what I should expect if im accepted. I have a 3.5 GPA and I just recently took my TEAS saturday so I am waiting on my score (Crosses fingers) :):):):)

Thanks!

error:question below

Kmp5 - thank you very much! This helps, because I had wondered how late we would be in school, and although my husband's job is flexible, they might not be as flexible as giving him 3 days off....so if he can at least go in later in the day...that's perfect! Two more questions, and I promise I'll stop. How many days a semester did you really have a 3rd day?

I don't mind the 3rd day, just wondering how often you would expect it, once a month?

Oh and Leadership, is that a required class?

Leadership isn't required and I don't do it. The third day doesn't happen that often but they remind us that we have to set aside 3 days a week for school. I'm trying to think and last semester we had to do something on the 3rd day once or twice. We had to do our volunteering then and we also have to be able to go to Dahlonega for stuff, as well, even if you're at Lanier or Gainesville.

Honestly, there is a whole lot of work you do at home. I work 3 12 hr shifts and this works out very well for me.

I am so surprised to hear that letters are going out tomorrow, I was really expecting the end of the month. Now I am really nervous and excited. You don't think they would kid us about a thing like this, do you :) Good luck to everyone!!! Also thanks for all the great information about the program, very informative and helpful!

Kmp5, thank you so much for all the helpful information! I am a much better learner if I have More time at Home. I need that time to be able to take in the information, and have the time to fully digest it. So I think N GA's program will work very well for me! Yes letters will go out tomorrow as long as there aren't any school closings up there Tomorrow... Unfortunately the news said school closings are a possibility :(

Does anyone know how many applicants there were?

Might as well chat about something while we wait for our letters. :)

I will admit, I am worried about the difficulties of nursing school, but I am motivated to do all the work necessary.

kmp5, I am impressed.... working (3) 12 hour shifts, while in nursing school...and I believe you said you are also a mom.

Pretty amazing! I have several children, but I will not be working....well unless I start as a tech after the first year.

You are definitely giving me hope that I can do this!

Which campus are you on, Gainesville, or Lanier? I hope I chose the right campus, I was sort of flexible, but have been hearing some horror stories about the campus I chose. I keep telling myself "maybe those are just unmotivated students." Then I realize, this is nursing school, they worked hard to get there, I doubt there are any unmotivated students...then I start to panic all over again. :)

I'm at the Gainesville campus. It seems like they put a lot of the younger students who live in Dahlonega and on campus at the main campus and Gainesville and Lanier seem to be older students, married students, with kids, etc.

It's not easy and there are times of extreme stress, like right now I'm taking a break from preparing for a test on Monday but I keep reminding myself that I can do this and I will. I do have kids and am juggling alot but so are my fellow classmates.

It's worth it and I just keep going, trying not to think too far ahead as it's too stressful.

Good luck! I hope that you all get admission letters in the next few days!

I just pm'd you! Good luck on your test Monday!!!

I just tried to PM you but they won't let me send it since I'm a new poster to this site and don't have 15 quality posts yet. If you'd like to PM me your email address, I'd be happy to email you back.

I did get a message from you, and I msgd you back with my email address too.

My heart just fell on the floor when I read that letters are supposed to be sent out tomorrow! I may not sleep until the mail comes...maybe I'll pitch a tent in the front yard! Holy magnolia's, the answer is near!!!! lol
