I am just curious to what everyone gets paid. I am debating if I should move after nursing school to a different state the get paid more.

I live in Louisiana and I think the pay rate for a RN is 23/hr.

Whats Your state??

I'm in central Ohio, about an hour north of Columbus. RN's start at $19.95/hr here. BSN will get you a quarter more. Shift diff is $3. We have one hospital in my town, so you have to drive about half hour to get to others... there are about 3 within a half hour and they all pay about the same.

Specializes in ED, Cardiac Medicine, Retail Health.

In my neck of the woods (Boston) the average pay for new grads is $28.50 without diffs. With diffs its close to $33/hr

Where I am outside of Baltimore new grad rate at my hospital is $24.58/hr + $3 diff for nights + $3 diff for weekends.

I am working mainly weekend nights so I will be at almost $31/hr

as a new grad I made $33/hour at a snf. Working per diem now for $40/hour, but it is very expensive here in NY.

Specializes in New Grad.

Charleston, WV area here. I'm in a scholarship program sponsored by our local hospital system (4 hospitals) where they pay for my schooling and upon graduation, I'm under contract to work for them for 3 years. The starting pay right now is $18.00 per hour, but I've heard a rumor that they are about to raise the pay to be more competitive with other regional hospitals.

Here in Northern California (near Sacramento) you can get between $20 - $26 for LVN. RN's clearly make between $38-$42 an hour. If not more. Depends on specialty and experience. Good luck!!

really? Salary.com has RN's making btw 56k and 64k in sacramento...38/hr equals 72k...

Good!!! I couldn't believe that was all the entry level pay was when I looked at their website. I hope they have that all into place when I graduate in May '09!
