What kind of grades got you in nursing school?

I already know A's and B's are better than C's, but I want to know what actually got you in? I live in Tennessse and MTSU wants an ACT score as well as the GPA. If anyone on here has gotten into MTSU, what kind of grades did you get? I have a 3.17 and a 19 on the ACT. Do I have a prayer of getting in anywhere? I applied at other schools that rank by GPA only. Am I to understand that these schools go by nothing else but your grades. I assume this because the applications I filled out only asked for grades and classes completed. :uhoh21:

I think I had a 3.5 or 3.6 coming in. Not any more though, but I had it once hehe :p

My grandmother lives in Hyattsville. So, I guess I am not good with my GPA then. I really want to here form somone who got into MTSU.

I had a 3.5 in my non-nursing classes. Just starting the nursing classes, so I don't know what it'll be after!!

Specializes in cardiac/education.

I didn't need the grades to get into my community college, thank goodness. I had over a 3.0 but nothing that would get me into these competetive BSN programs, I am afraid. But......I did take the classes over ten years ago when I was much less interested in maintaining a good GPA. Now, in nursing school, I am pulling A's and B's and that is all that matters to me!!

Good Luck getting in somewhere. If I was up against what you are up against I would be totally frustrated too! I had originally considered going to the university but was told that the RN-BSN program was much less competetive and very easy to get into, so that is my plan.....It would have taken me much longer to get into the university and there was no gaurantee that they would accept me anyway. I didn't want my life just dangling there for so long. My clock is ticking...:chuckle

I had a 2.9 over all......not great. But I'm all math and science.....the school I got into only looks at A&P I, II, Chemistry, Algebra, English, Medical Term., and there may have been 1 more class. With these classes I had a 3.6.

I had a 4.0 cumul. GPA for my pre-reqs, and a 1180 on the SAT's....

We didn't have the ACT as a requirement.
