What Do You Hate About Nursing School!

I had an aweful day and need some humor to boost my mood.

O.K. I'll start.

Things I hate ablout nursing school!

When you get to clinical and your patient has been discharged, because you have to start a whole new careplan on a different patient.

When you find art history class difficult because you are trying to use critical thinking on your art exams.

When the ex-nurses aid that you have class with always tries to correct the instructor on every procedure because she "Worked as an aid for two years and that's not how they did it"

Let's vent everyone and try to add a little humor. Sometimes if I don't laugh about these things I just might cry. I'd rather laugh about them and keep some sanity (what little I have left at this point). Oh my goodness listen to me it's only October.

I hate when the majority of the class has a major problem with the instructor but when you say let's talk to the director (after approaching instructor) and see if we can get the problem fixed no one will back you up. :angryfire

I hate it when instructors won't explain something. Example: "It is the way it is, because I said it is." :angryfire

I hate the group of "smart kids" (know-it-alls) that think they are there to teach along with the instructor and think that they are the only ones in class with good grades because they are the ones that flaunt it. :angryfire

I hate that because the school schedules classes in 5 week blocks (2 classes every 5 weeks) that I have a test almost everyday. No time to learn ... memorize and move on. :angryfire

But I do really like nursing school over all.

Specializes in PEDS.

LOL, I SOOOOOOOOOOO remember those days, and let me tell you it is universal. I don't miss nursing school, that's for sure. Hang in there, ya'll, you WILL make it, even though it seems like it will never happen. I have been there, done that.
