Trying to keep up a GPA

I was fortunate enough to be awarded an academic scholarship for my tuition at my local CC. I am having a bit of a concern about that, though. I have not been in school for 15 years and I'm a bit worried that I won't be able to keep the required 3.0 GPA that the renewable scholarship requires. Has anyone had problems keeping a 3.0 each semester? (I am referring to an LPN program, not a four year degree.)

Do whatever it takes. I 'm a little nervous about grades too as i will be entering graduate school later. Below 3.0 is not an option for you.

start slow if you can, 2-3 classes. It will get you back into the swing of things. It had been over 10 years for me and I have done ok so far :)

lol.. not alot I can do about the classload.. it's an LPN program, classes are set.. first semester in the program is either 16 or 18 hours I believe.

but, I also know that I'll be taking AandP I during the month of June and then Nutrition during July. The scholarship is only allowed during the fall and spring terms... I am using a grant to pay for summer classes.

:) Just popping in to say BEST OF LUCK to you, as another older student returning after years away from school! How'd you get an academic scholarship after being out so long? That's awesome for you! Congrats!

Our school requires you to take either the ASSET or ACT test for admissions. I took my ASSET and fortunately tested out at college level on everything, not needing any remedial classes.

WOW that is great! So the school is giving the scholarship based on your test scores then? Woohoo!! :balloons: I wish mine did that. They didn't even make me take the ASSET tests bc of my SAT scores and HS transcripts  which quite frankly shocked me due to the fact that I took the SAT in 1989 and graduated in 1991!! :chuckle But I'm not going to complain!! Just wish they'd give me money too - that'd be sweet! CONGRATS again :)
