I know I've asked this before, but I'll try again...anyone attending or applying to Thomas Jefferson U? I just finished up my application. Anyone else in the Philly area?

no thanks for the info. At least i know people are going to jefferson. I guess I'm trying to figure out if Hahnaman or Jefferson is better, like with the health network/hospital network ...

If you go to Jeff or (Hahnemann), you won't be doing clinicals at just that network. We have clinicals all over the place--Lankenau, Penn, Jeff, Nazareth, Hahnemann, MCP, Bryn Mawr, Holy Redeemer, Friends.... There are a million teaching hospitals in Philly and everyone does clinicals at everyone else's hospitals.

Nikki, Thanks for that info. I wasn't really sure about that!

I'm doing the accelerated program at Jefferson. I finish in May...can't wait! We do our clinicals mostly at Jefferson, but there is some spill over to other hospitals (not all the students go, just some) to places like Bryn Mawr, Lankenau, Einstein. And, we all did our pediatrics clinical at St. Christopher's. As far as the program, what can I say...to be completely honest, I don't think it's very good. But, having never gone to any other nursing programs, I have no way of knowing what others are like (better? the same?...I won't put worse as an option...okay, now I'm being unfair). Because this program is brand new (and partly b/c I think jefferson is just this way), things are very disorganized. And our main teacher is pretty bad. At the same time, I have been learning, even if much of it is on my own, taught to me, by me. I guess the real test comes after May when I go to take the NCLEX. The best thing I can suggest is that you contact each of the schools you're considering, and ask if you can sit in on one of the classes at each. You can also then talk to some of the students and get an insider's view. That way you can really get a feel for the place, and make your decision from there. Whatever you choose, good luck.

JKM,

are you doing the RN program?

Hello!

I am attending Jefferson's FACT program this coming summer. I am alittle disappointed by the comments that were posted by FACT students.... I was really looking forward to it, but now I am a bit nervous! Do you think the program worked on getting "the act together" and it will be more organized this year? What were some of the problems you had? Also when was the exact start date and when did you receive more information from Jeff after you were accepted. And my last question is, sorry to throw them all at you...did you find it difficult to find a job as an NP with no working experience besides clinicals? If you have an suggestions or more comments I would love to hear them...either post them or email me. THANKS!!!!!

Im taking this post off because im not going to jeff anymore. Bye
